The campaign of Black Myth Wukong involves the player navigating the vast and scenic lands of Ancient China, and doing so in the shoes of the mythic character Sun Wukong, also called the "Destined One." The story is based on the 16th century book Journey to the West, and involves the protagonist fighting powerful enemies of immense scale.

The game allows players to replay the entirety of the campaign with certain benefits being carried over, in the form of New Game+. As the campaign progresses once again, it is beneficial for the player to have Sun Wukong don some armor sets. 1) Galeguard Set

Using the Galeguard set in NG+ provides the benefit of a small increase in Focus with every Perfect Dodge, giving a lasting advantage in battles. The full set contains a mask, bracers, greaves, and the armor itself.

With the full set equipped, Wukong will gain a Mana boost once three successful dodges have been achieved, and also reduces the cooldown for spells. The rapid regain of Mana is very helpful in making spells available at a faster rate.

2) Bronze Set

To obtain the Bronze Set, Chen Loong's quest line must be completed. Upon fruition, players can craft the armor set by having all the prerequisite materials needed for crafting, and then talking to the Yin Tiger. The set can be upgraded up to Mythic rarity.

The benefit of upgrading to Mythic is that the full set will provide the player with the dual benefit of having reduced cooldown on the Immobiize spell, and an increase in the damage to enemies stunned by the spell. Being able to use the Immobilize spell faster is a boon, as it stops the enemy in their tracks. This allows the player to land multiple heavy blows and use other spells.

3) Insect Set

With the sheer strength of the many enemies and their various attacks, the player can end up having some stats' values be diminished. This is where the Insect Set can come into play, as having it equipped increases the duration of medical healing items such as the Loong Aura Amplification Pellets and Body-Fleeting Powder.

Additionally, the player is rewarded with a small boost to their Focus value upon using medical healing items. This is particularly helpful for certain hard-to-beat boss fights across NG+, such as enemies with a rapid rate of attack.

4) Bull King Set

The Bull King armor set can absorb an incredible amount of damage compared to most other armor sets found across the game. In fact, it is the strongest armor set in the game. To obtain the full set, a second playthrough is required, which is exactly what New Game+ achieves.

Once the full set is acquired, Sun Wukong will be less prone to staggering when the health bar is below half, once Tenacity is granted. Some Focus can also be gained when attacked by an enemy. The more challenging boss fights over the campaign can be made easier by having this armor set equipped, which is beneficial in NG+.

5) Monkey King Set

Sun Wukong's is also known as the Monkey King, and it is fitting that the Monkey King armor set is granted as part of the campaign. The set includes four pieces, but when paired with the mythic Jingubang weapon, it can result in a reduced cooldown on all usable spells when a successful Critical Hit is completed.

Critical Hit chance is also increased significantly, a benefit provided simply by having achieved the two-piece bonus. Throughout the course of NG+, the benefits of this armor help make it an all-rounder, and great for many boss fights.
