What are the five best assassins in Brawl Stars in August 2024?

1) Crow

Crow remains a prominent assassin despite receiving numerous nerfs over time. His once-powerful abilities, such as the Extra Toxic Star Power and the Slowing Toxin Gadget, have been toned down, making him less dominant in the meta. Crow's low health and modest damage output mean he struggles against high-damage Brawlers like Sandy and Max.

However, his poison attacks are still valuable on maps with plenty of bushes, as they prevent enemies from healing and maintaining control. Crow's Hypercharge ability stands out as a key asset, allowing him to deal significant damage to grouped enemies when fully charged. Unfortunately, the long charge time limits its use to perhaps only once per game, but it can be a game-changer in the right hands.

2) Buzz

Buzz is another formidable assassin, particularly known for his ability to close the gap on fleeing enemies with his Super. His Super allows him to quickly catch up to and stun opponents, making it easier to finish them off. Buzz's grapple radius is essential for getting close to enemies, and it’s often more effective to grapple onto a nearby wall than directly onto a moving target.

His Reserve Buoy Gadget enhances his mobility, either by getting him closer to enemies faster or by allowing him to use his Super at the start of a match. When paired with Buzz's Hypercharge, which instantly recharges his Super when hitting a wall, he becomes an incredible escape artist, able to dart across the map and evade enemy fire with ease.

3) Stu

Stu is a highly versatile assassin, renowned for his mobility and ability to outmaneuver opponents. Despite having the slowest movement speed among assassins, Stu’s Super, which charges with just one hit, makes him one of the most mobile Brawlers in the game. This mobility allows Stu to dodge enemy attacks and escape dangerous situations effortlessly.

His Gaso-Heal Star Power is particularly effective for players skilled in double-dashing, as it provides a steady stream of health recovery. The key to playing this Brawler effectively is by using the best Stu build and having his Super ready for emergencies. Stu's ability to quickly recharge his Super after each use makes him a persistent threat on the battlefield.

4) Melodie

Melodie is a unique assassin whose gameplay revolves around her ability to spawn and use notes. These notes appear whenever Melodie hits any target, including Brawlers, pets, or objectives like the Heist safe. Her Super becomes especially deadly when she dashes toward enemies with three notes orbiting her, maximizing her damage output.

Melodie excels in game modes like Heist, where she can continuously attack the safe and keep notes orbiting her for massive damage. Her Interlude Gadget acts similarly to Edgar's Gadget or Gus's Super, providing a shield that can absorb damage and potentially save her in critical moments. This Gadget is particularly useful for rushing enemy objectives or defending her own.

Lily has become a top-tier assassin following a recent rework that granted her an additional ammo slot. This seemingly minor change has doubled her damage output, making her a formidable force in the current meta.

Lily's Vanish Gadget is another powerful tool, allowing her to escape danger or reposition herself for a better attack. For three seconds, she becomes invisible, enabling her to close the gap on enemies or retreat to safety.

Additionally, her Spiky Star Power further enhances her damage potential by increasing her next main attack's damage by 50% after using her Super. This combination of abilities makes Lily a deadly assassin who can quickly turn the tide of battle in her favor.
