During your travels around the world of Kian, you will often come across Ancestor Favors. The game describes Ancestors as souls that have escaped from the Great Below and are now venerated by the living for the favors bestowed by them. When you interact with one of these Ancestor Favors, it boosts your Reputation gain for a short period.

Reputation is the main currency in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn. It is used to acquire skill points, weapon upgrades, armor, etc. So having something that can boost your Reputation is amazing. Therefore, you should always be on the lookout for and make use of Ancestor Favors.

2) Focus on parrying when taking on enemies with Shields

There are tons of enemy types in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn. Some will come at you with guns, while others will try to hack at you with melee weapons. Moreover, you will often come across enemies equipped with shields, these pose a greater threat than others since you will need to deal with their shields before they become vulnerable to damage.

To do so, you can either bulldoze your way through their shield by relentlessly attacking or use Enki to fill up their posture meter. However, the most efficient way of dealing with this enemy type is to parry them. By doing so, these enemies become vulnerable to critical hits, thus allowing you to get rid of their shield in a single hit. So, anytime you're faced with an enemy carrying a shield, focus on parrying.

3) Take your time with exploration

The World of Kian is full of secrets to discover and places to explore. The quest marker in this game is always active and can instill a sense of urgency. It also makes the game feel more linear, so some might not be inclined to explore. However, not exploring your surroundings is a huge misstep in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn.

This game is extremely vertical, and there is a ton of good loot to be found at the highest platforms and the darkest corners. Rushing through the map can cause you to miss out on the best loot and content this game has in store for you. Exploration can also lead to one of many trophies in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn. So take your time exploring the nooks and crannies of every new area.

4) Don't rush into fights

There are plenty of instances in Flintlock The Siege of Dawn where rushing head-first into battle seems like a good option. However, during your playthrough, new enemy types, especially those who can damage you at long range, start to show up. Often, you will rush into fights and suffer a quick death due to snipers and other enemies who fight from the shadows.

So, take a step back and properly scout an area before getting into fights. Doing so will lead to less grief and allow you to come up with different strategies to deal with enemies efficiently. Rushing in seems like the way to go, but it will often lead to a quick death.

Just a few hours into the game, you will get access to Secondary Firearms. These can be anything, from a musket to even a mortar or a canon. Secondary Firearms inflict a ton of damage, and a single headshot from the musket is enough to deal with most threats.

So, ahead of a fight, you can set up far away from their enemies and use the Secondary Firearm to thin the crowd. Often, you will find enemies bundled up, waiting to pounce on you. Instead of fighting them head-on, players should lean on their Secondary Firearms to even the odds.
