Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is slated to become the newest entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series in almost two decades. The game will be playable in single-player as well as multiplayer modes and will feature over 180 playable characters from across Dragon Ball Z, GT, Super, and even some of the movies.

5 games like Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO players can enjoy

1) Dragon Ball FighterZ

While it is a 2.5D fighter game, Dragon Ball FighterZ’s combat system is quite akin to the Street Fighter and Tekken games, but in Dragon Ball format. Within the game, the player must pick a team of three playable characters and a unique assist for each of them.

Players can then compete with their team against AI opponents or other players via multiplayer. Released in 2018, the game is abbreviated as DBFZ and its roster features up to 44 playable characters, including those unlocked in DLCs.

2) Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Having released in 2020, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is an action RPG title set in the Dragon Ball universe. Controlling seven iconic characters from the franchise, players can partake in battles of epic proportion, while also engaging in RPG elements such as training, fishing, and more.

The title adds story elements and lore not present in the original manga, and two bonus storylines are playable via the purchase of DLCs.

3) Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

The second installment in the Xenoverse sub-series was released in 2016, two years after the first game. With history being attacked and at the risk of being altered, players take on the role of Time Patrollers while controlling the protagonist, Future Warrior.

Featuring the series’ popular cinematic battle styles, players can use up to five Ki blasts, and play in single-player and multiplayer modes similar to that of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO.

4) Tekken 8

One of the most iconic beat-em-up franchises of all time, Tekken 8 was the first entry in the titular franchise since 2015’s Tekken 7. Featuring 2.5D combat similar to that of Dragon Ball FighterZ, success in the game relies on the player’s combo hit skills.

5) Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is also a popular 2.5D combat game and is the first main-line entry in the Street Fighter series since its predecessor launched in 2016. Capcom’s popular franchise has a very cinematic presentation and design scheme, much like the Dragon Ball games.

Players can compete against AI opponents or other players via multiplayer. The gameplay is similar to that of DBFZ, though the combat elements are based heavily on martial arts across the world.
