Spellcasters have a lot to love with the new Incantations for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. It was incredibly hard to pin it down to just five really powerful Incantations, but this is a list of our personal favorites. Yours may vary, and that’s perfectly fine. Some of these will be incredibly difficult to unlock, however, and are found much later in the DLC.
For those unfamiliar with the difference, Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree scale off of Faith, whereas Sorceries use the Intelligence Stat. Incantations are cast using Sacred Seals and aren’t all necessarily healing spells. Think of the previous games’ Miracles and Pyromancies, and you’re in the right place. When it comes to the DLC though, here are our favorite new offerings.

The best new Incantations to use in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
1) Light of Miquella

If you want what could be considered the most powerful Incantation in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, you need to beat the Final Boss. Once you’ve defeated them, take the Remembrance of a God and a Lord to Enia at Roundtable Hold, and you can unlock Light of Miquella.
What an amazing Incantation! Though it takes two slots and costs 48 FP, it “Annihilates foes with a pillar of light.” Its 72 Faith requirement is also something to consider. If you want the ultimate evil-destroying Incantation, this Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree offering is just for you.
2) Fire Serpent

Sometimes, a powerful Incantation needs to be something you can repeatedly use in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. In that case, it’s Fire Serpent! Just head to the Storehouse, Back Section Site of Grace, and look for a long ladder. Climb it and loot the corpse to unlock this amazing power.
We’re a fan of Fire Serpent because it’s pretty cost efficient (11 FP), though you can charge it for more damage. There’s a bit of a delay before it moves out, and that’s not too bad to deal with either. It pursues the target, and that’s just another reason it’s spectacular. It’s not hard to get, doesn’t have a high Faith requirement (Faith 16), and only uses 1 Slot.
3) Land of Shadow

Once you’ve defeated the Scadutree Avatar - one of the Remembrance bosses in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. When you defeat this boss, you’ll receive a Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower. You can take it to Enia at the Roundtable Hold and pick either Land of Shadow (Incantation) or the Shadow Sunflower Blossom weapon. In this case, we want the spell.
For 40 FP and 1 Slot, it “Fires a hail of golden projectiles toward foes.” They have solid range, and homing on top of that. It’s a really solid Incantation to use on horseback, as well. While it’s not the most powerful spell when it comes to damage, it's incredibly useful in a wide number of situations. It does have a higher Faith requirement though, at 58. That means it's mostly for Faith-based players, unlike some of the others.
4) Heal from Afar

It wouldn’t be a list of Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree without one of them that heals someone. This one’s particularly unique, when it comes to Incantations, though. At the base of the Rauh Ruins, you’ll find a cave path. Look for the glowing icon near a Golden Tree in this underground area to get this powerful Incantation.
What makes this such an incredible Incantation in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is all in the name. It “greatly heals HP for distant allies,” and that’s the important thing. It’s the only ranged heal, and it only requires 18 Faith and 1 Slot. It’s expensive, at 45 FP, though. If you have any intent on playing with others, it’s something to have in your back pocket.
5) Giant Golden Arc

Getting The Giant Golden Arc is a bit convoluted but worth the effort. You need the Greater Potentate’s Cookbook (2) found at the Run-Down Travelers Rest. From there, you go to the Hidden Path to the Castle Watering Hole Area in Shadow Keep and then craft a Hefty Furnace Pot. You use it to move the Giant Furnace, so you can get to the nearby ruins that have this Incantation.
This is much better than the previous Golden Arc ability. It casts swiftly, and more importantly, it has a very high stagger rate. Due to its wide radius, it can hit multiple enemies, and it can be charged. At 24 FP, it’s pretty spammable and it only requires a 34 Faith and 1 Slot. Why use the weaker version, when the better is out there in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?
