Runes in Dragon Age The Veilguard are among the accessories and items that can be equipped to characters that can aid in gameplay and fights on the battlefield. Runes can help provide some great active and passive boosts to certain aspects of gameplay for short bursts of time, after which they enter a cooldown period before they can become usable again. Note that at any point during gameplay, a maximum of three runes can be equipped by the character to aid in gameplay.

5 great runes to use in Dragon Age The Veilguard
Below is a list of five great runes which can be used in gameplay. Most of these can greatly help to take down enemies quicker and deal some additional damage. Some runes can also deal a particular type of damage, which can be used against enemies that are vulnerable to it.
1) Ravage
The abilities in Ravage make it one of the best runes to use in that game. Its active ability allows it to deal 50% more damage against enemy health, making it a real boon for tough boss fights. Additionally, its passive ability is to deal 10% damage versus health. Combining this with most detonate skill combos can make defeating enemies much faster due to the increased damage output, even if it is for 20 seconds.
2) Escalate
Though it may seem like it doesn't offer much, Escalate can be a boon for charging up an ability's effectiveness when it is due to be used on the battlefield. Having this rune equipped will increase the damage rate exponentially, or increase the rate at which it can be used. In addition to this, it passively increases said ability's damage by 10%. Pair Escalate with an ability such as Groundbreaker or Titan Stomp to get an advantage in battle.
3) Crystallize
Crystallize has the ability to freeze all enemies within a radius of 10 meters, which can make landing hits and causing damage easier. Additionally, its passive ability can increase the frozen duration by 10%, making it more effective. Pair it with abilities like Heroic Strike to deal immense damage to opponents.

4) Shatter
As the name suggests, Shatter can obliterate enemy defenses for 10 seconds when a ranged attack has been used on the battlefield. Adding to this is its passive ability to deal an additional 10% damage on ranged attacks, which makes it very useful against guarding enemies. Pair it with Spirit Bomb to deal lots of Sundered damage.
5) Glaciate
Glaciate's active ability allows the weapon attacks to deal Cold damage for 20 seconds, and its passive ability increases the damage of said attacks by an additional 10%. Use this rune on enemies vulnerable to Cold, as it can be a very useful aid. It can be paired with Glacial Pace to deal Weakened damage as well.
