Squad Busters is the latest Supercell game, in which players build squads and compete in a battle royale. In these encounters, knowing the best Squad Busters characters can provide a winning edge. Because, every time a chest is opened, players choose one of three random troops. It is a crucial decision and dictates how the rest of the round goes.

After selecting a starting unit, there are three main goals. To open chests for more troops, collect as many gems as possible and bust enemy squads. Whoever collects the most amount of gems by the end of the round emerges victorious.

1) Tank

Tank is a ranged attacker who can be unlocked from Beach World onwards. She is a basic defensive unit with a special ability that makes her stand out. She can ride tanks that are spread across the map. When riding the tank, she inflicts extra damage and receives a massive buff in hit points (HP).

Tank brings the most value to the team while riding a tank. If selected, she should be protected until a tank is found. Although classified as a 'Defender', she can also dish out impressive damage to the opponent team.

2) Barbarian King

Thanks to his ability, Barbarian King has good synergy with all melee units like Barbarian, El Primo, Goblin, and more. Once he is upgraded to Ultra form, unlocking him from a Battle Chest grants a Super Rage Spell.

Archer Queen is a ranged attacker that can be unlocked by logging into the game with a Supercell account. She provides similar buffs as Barbarian King and ranks among the best Squad Busters characters. Upon being unlocked from the Battle Chest, Archer Queen offers an attack speed buff to ranged attackers. When upgraded to Classic form, she fires an explosive arrow every 10 seconds which stuns the enemy.

Archer Queen is compatible with ranged attackers like Colt, Shelly, Wizard, etc. The only downside is her HP, prompting players to keep an eye on her health bar.

4) Trader

The Trader is categorized as a supplier. Because of his common rarity, he can easily be unlocked at the Royal World. Lacking in DPS and HP, his role is to provide the squad with gems. In baby form, the trader yields two gems per 15 coins collected, which rises to three in classic form.

Since the player with the highest gem count wins, the Trader can be crucial in securing victory. Trader's ability is coin-based, making him appreciate other suppliers — Goblin, Greg, and Mavis — as allies.

Regarded as one of the best Squad Busters characters, Hog Rider can be unlocked in the early game at Green World. He is a speedster whose role is to provide movement speed buffs for the team. Speed buffs can help players flee from strong foes and catch weaker ones. In his baby form, he applies Turbo on the squad when in grass. Hog Rider's Classic ability reduces the Turbo cooldown, while his fusion perks allow faster Turbo recovery.

Most of his kit is based around Turbo. He is also a decent attacker, having 307 DPS in the fused form. In terms of synergy, he dovetails well with the Barbarian King and Rage spell.
