One of the primary things you should be careful about is not to pair the wrong characters with Jade in Honkai Star Rail. Since she is one of the newest characters in the title, it is certain that many players will be unfamiliar with her kit and how it works. Therefore, players summoning her with Special Passes tend to make mistakes when constructing a team composition that suits her the best.
With that being said, let’s take a look at the characters that you should avoid pairing with Jade in Honkai Star Rail.

Five characters that you should avoid pairing with Jade in Honkai Star Rail
1) Firefly

Firefly is also one of the newest characters in Honkai Star Rail who saw her debut in version 2.3. Since Firefly excels in dealing Weakness Break damage to the opposition, she is one of the characters you should avoid pairing with Jade in Honkai Star Rail.
Moreover, Firefly requires a hypercarry team composition to shine on the battlefield, it will hinder both Jade and the former when placed in the same team.
2) Boothill

Boothill was released in this gacha title from HoYoverse during the second phase of version 2.2. All of his abilities scale with Break Effect and can perform to his fullest extent with a hypercarry team.
Since Jade requires a follow-up attack-oriented team composition that includes either Himeko, Herta, Topaz, or Dr. Ratio, if placed with Boothill, it will just not work properly since both of the units’ playstyle are different.
3) Kafka

Kafka is another character that you should avoid pairing with Jade in Honkai Star Rail. Since this Stellaron Hunter deals damage by placing debuffs on the enemies she does not synergize with the follow-up attack units. Therefore, it is recommended that you shouldn't put Jade and Kafka on the same team.
If you decide to do so, it will be Kafka dealing abysmally low damage since she requires another DoT unit, while Jade struggles to launch her follow-up attacks. Hence, to allow Jade to perform better, you should have a better understanding of her kit.
4) Seele

Seele is one of the oldest five stars in this HoYoverse title. Her abilities mostly rely on dealing absurd damage to a single target due to her affiliation with The Hunt Path. Primarily she excels in various hypercarry teams with at least two Harmony units or a Harmony character with a debuffer such as Pela, and Silver Wolf.
If you pair Jade with Seele, the team might look like it works fine but it will not dish out the damage that a follow-up attack team can do. Hence, it is a complete waste to pair both of the aforementioned units together.
5) Yanqing

Yanqing is one of the standard five-star characters in Honkai Star Rail. You can obtain him by either rolling in the Standard Banner or losing 50/50 on the Limited-time character banners. Although he is a five-star unit, his damage is quite substandard. Additionally, due to his affiliation with The Hunt Path, he focuses on one target at a time.
Teaming him up with Jade is not recommended as his damage output is quite bad and completing various challenging activities such as Pure Fiction can become quite problematic with both in the same team. Apart from that, Yanqing’s playstyle also doesn’t match Jade which is another reason not to pair both characters.
