Cricket is like a religion to many and people will try to look for the game in their phones, TVs and even their PCs. EA Sports released Cricket ’07 back in 2006 and it is still played with all the additional patches EA has been pushing through over the years.

The game comes with two covers, one with the England cricketer Andrew Flintoff, while the other Australian cover features the Ashes urn with Australian and English flags. The original game features a special Ashes mode which unlocks special Ashes movies after you complete all the scenarios. There is one set each for winning with Australia and England.

Cricket ‘07’s realistic gameplay and various modes made it popular but games from such an earlier time have glitches which the gamers have exploited to get the perfect high score.

Almost 11 years down the line from its initial release, Cricket ‘07 has been analysed and thoroughly explored by players worldwide and here we list down the most common hacks you can use to become a master of this game.

1. 10 wickets in 10 balls

This is a pretty easy trick and all you need is proper control over the ball marker. For this trick, you need a fast bowler and you need to put the ball marker near the batsman’s leg. Next, you adjust the speed to maximum and select the swing – inswing for right-handed batsmen and outswing for left-handed batsmen – using ‘S’ or ‘D’. The ball will hit the stumps without fail.

Adjust the ball marker to place it exactly behind the batman’s toes and the AI misses the ball. You might need a bit of practice before you get a hang of this trick but it will pay off in the end.

2. Six 6s in an over

Six boundaries in an over, that's one record you have to make while playing Cricket ’07. This trick requires a lot of precision but seasoned players can do this pretty easily.

To hit continuous sixes, always make sure the ball marker is on the leg side of the batsman. Move the batsman’s foot accordingly so that the leg stump is visible and press the advance shot button together with the boost shot button (shift) towards the leg side.

If you time it correctly you can always hit this ball for a six. You can practice this trick in the nets first so as to get used to it.

3. Extra run on every ball

This trick makes use of a glitch in the game where the run that is completed after an appeal to the umpire is counted. You have to be very careful with your timing in this case, but then you get an extra run every single time.

While completing the run, just after you cross the crease, if the ball is thrown towards the bowler or wicketkeeper, he will break the stumps. Just before this happens, press ‘D’ to start running again.

Since you are already inside the crease the appeal will not be counted and the wicketkeeper or bowler won’t throw the ball again and you will get an extra run.

4. Easy wickets with spinners

Spinners often get taken for runs in Cricket ‘07 but then there’s this trick which will surely make your spinner burn all the records. Place players close to the batsman and in the slips, surrounding him with a tight field.

Now, make sure you bowl short but not too short as the umpire will then give a no-ball. The short ball will be very slow since you are using a spin bowler and it will either hit the stumps, hit the bat and lob up for a catch, hit the pads or end up as a dot ball. The chance of getting an LBW using this trick is high and it is pretty easy considering you only have to bowl a short ball.

5. All out cheating

This is a no-brainer. There are plenty of trainers and cheat engines available online that you can download and use. There are also cheats available online like ‘INZAMAM’, ‘RHODES’, ‘rkoall’ and many more which you can activate by highlighting the ‘My Cricket’ option in the Main Menu with the mouse pointer but not clicking it. They provide boosts like 100 stamina or increasing the overall rating of a batsman to 100.

Alternately, you can just create your own squad with all your players rated at 100.

Another subtle way to cheat while not messing with game files is to save your game after every over. This way if a wicket falls you can exit and just load the match from an earlier point. Easy right? But then the game is not fun with all out cheating techniques is it?
