Genshin Impact often releases new playable characters with each update. As of its current version 4.7, the title has introduced over 83 units in the span of four years, with more scheduled to appear in the future. Naturally, most characters are at the risk of being powercreeped by a newer entity. However, there are some that are expected to be relevant for a long time, thanks to their versatile kits.

This article lists the five best Genshin Impact characters that may continue to be relevant in the game's meta for the foreseeable future.

5 Genshin Impact characters who will always be relevant to the meta

Powercreeping is a common struggle for most gacha games, and Genshin Impact is no exception. There have been several instances where fresh releases have eclipsed older characters in terms of damage, utility, or healing. However, there are some characters with such exceptional kits that they are unlikely to suffer that fate.

Here are the five best characters you can pull that are expected to remain relevant in the meta of Genshin Impact:

1) Nahida

The Archon of Sumeru, Nahida, is a 5-star character who is an excellent sub-DPS. Players can use her Elemental Skill to target particular enemies and apply the Dendro element on them from off-field. This makes her extremely valuable in team compositions that rely on Dendro elemental reactions. Moreover, her Skill remains active for quite some time eliminating the need to swap to her in short durations.

Nahida's Elemental Burst is another great aspect of her gameplay. It can buff the Elemental Mastery of Nahida and her allies within its boundary. This, in turn, can significantly impact the team's damage output in Genshin Impact.

As long as there isn't an off-field character released with a lower Dendro application cooldown than Nahida, she is expected to remain a core member of most Dendro-based meta teams.

2) Kazuha

Kaedehara Kazuha is a 5-star unit from the Anemo element in Genshin Impact. He is considered one of the best supports in the game because he is capable of buffing a character's elemental damage. You can use this aspect of his kit by simply Swirl-ing the element that you want to gain a damage bonus for. Ideally, it is recommended to Swirl your main DPS's element to buff your damage output.

Aside from that, Kazuha also offers a lot of utility as a crowd-control character who can group enemies consistently via his Elemental Skill, and a trigger for the Viridescent Venerer artifact set.

It is likely that as long as HoYoverse doesn't introduce another character who can buff elemental damage directly, Kazuha will remain a top-tier unit.

3) Kokomi

Sangonomiya Kokomi's verstality in Genshin Impact is second-to-none. She is the strongest healer who can ensure your characters are always in perfect health. She can recover HP via both, her Elemental Skill and Burst. Pair that up with her continuous wide-ranged Hydro application, and you can't go wrong.

Most of Kokomi's abilities work off-field, allowing her to function as a Hydro sub-DPS. As such, she can fill two roles in a team efficiently. In the current meta, she is heavily used in most top-tier Bloom, Hyperbloom, Vaporize, and Freeze.

Until the developers add another Hydro healer who can surpass Kokomi's Hydro application, she will continue to thrive in a lot of team compositions.

4) Bennett

Bennett is a 4-star Pyro character who has been around since version 1.0. While many have been counting on his downfall, no other character comes close to replacing him in the game. His Elemental Burst has a two-fold effect: healing and buffing his teammates' attack. Additionally, he can also trigger the Pyro Resonance with another unit, making him a must-have for any attack-scaling DPS.

Bennett's Elemental Skill also boasts a very short cooldown, allowing him to cast it more often and recover considerable energy. This ensures his Elemental Burst is always up when needed.

Bennett has been prevalent in the meta since Genshin Impact's debut, and this doesn't seem likely to change until another attack-buffer is introduced from the Pyro element.

5) Xingqiu

Like the previous entry, Xingqiu has also been present in Genshin Impact since its inception.

The 4-star Hydro unit is one of the best off-field Hydro applicators whose Elemental Burst is core to his gameplay. After casting it, several Rainswords are summoned to the field that attacks foes when the main DPS performs Normal Attacks. While it may seem simple, it's a relatively strong effect capable of triggering Elemental Reactions at every hit.

Xingqiu has often been compared to Yelan in the game, and many considered the latter to powercreep him. However, his Elemental Skill has ensured he stays relevant. It summons several Rainswords around the active characters to protect them from incoming damage. It offers damage reduction and healing after Rainswords break.

As long as there isn't another character as versatile as Xingqiu, he will continue to be one of the best 4-stars in the title.
