FromSoftware are the pioneers of the Souls-like genre of video games. They made their name crafting games with massive dark worlds and incredibly deep storylines. However, the main attraction for any FromSoftware game has always been the bosses. While they are masters of their craft, it doesn't mean they don't miss every once in a while.
This article dives into the five most hated bosses ever featured in any FromSoftware game.
Bosses That Are Incredibly Hated in FromSoftware Games
1) Dragon God

This boss is the face of the Demon's Souls game, yet it is one of the most hated bosses in any FromSoftware game ever. The moment you step into the arena and see a massive Dragon God walking on lava, you expect a fight that you will remember for days. However, the reality is just disappointing. This is not a fight, but a chore. Once you figure out the gimmick, you just have to run around and dodge attacks.
What makes this fight more tedious is that the Dragon God can one-shot you with any attack. So the margin for error is extremely low in this fight. However, as lackluster as the fight may be, you can't blame FromSoftware too much for this because, back when Demon's Souls first came out, they didn't have the technology needed to make a massive boss fight like this work.
2) Bed of Chaos
Just like Dragon God, the Bed of Chaos is also a gimmick fight. Dark Souls 2 already has a very bad reputation in the FromSoftware community, and having one of the most lackluster and uninspired bosses in the franchise doesn't help it at all. This boss is literally a tree with hands. To kill it, all you have to do is attack all three of its weak spots.
The only saving grace of this boss is that it has checkpoints. This means, if you die after destroying the first weak point, you don't have to start over again once you respawn. The Bed of Chaos is considered to be one of the most 'boring' bosses FromSoftware ever created.
3) High Lord Wolnir
Dark Souls 3 has an amazing track record when it comes to bosses. However, it still missed when it comes to High Lord Wolnir. This boss is a giant skeleton that hides in darkness. To kill it, you have to destroy its bracelets. Good luck with this because the bracelets are on the same hands it uses to perform giant sweeping attacks that can almost one-shot you.
So you have to balance between dodging and attacking, which results in a long and tedious fight. Add in the constant waves of lesser enemies, and you have one of the most hated Dark Souls 3 bosses ever.

4) Witch of Hemwick
Personally, Bloodborne is my favorite FromSoftware game, but that doesn't cloud my judgment from the fact that this game has some of the worst bosses in any Souls-like game ever. However, none of them can beat the sheer chore that is the Witch of Hemwick. This boss offers us nothing to root for it.
The main boss is a shriveled old lady who appears in different parts of the arena. You need to run up to her and attack her every time she appears. She doesn't attack but summons constant waves of 'witches' who also don't attack you unless you go near them. What makes the fight tedious is that there are two 'shriveled old ladies' that you have to kill to defeat this boss.
5) Godskin Duo
Lastly, we talk about the most recent Souls-like game from FromSoftware, Elden Ring. This game is very well-received, and there is a massive fanbase that loves this game, including me. Being an Elden Ring fan, I support the dislike towards the Godskin Duo. These two skin-wearing lunatics are one of the worst and most frustrating bosses I have ever fought in any game.
Both Godskin bosses have highly damaging AOE attacks that can become almost impossible to effectively dodge if you don't use a summon. However, there are methods to cheese this fight. You can use sleep to stun one of them to focus on the other, but the fact that you need to use summons or cheese methods to enjoy this fight shows how badly it is designed.
