Marvel Rivals has been quite the phenomenon in the online multiplayer space. Players have been grinding the game's ranked mode to reach the top of the leaderboard. One of the most interesting features of the game's ranked system is how it introduces the hero ban system in the later ranks.

From Diamond, players are allowed to ban any heroes they don't want to face during a match. Each team gets two hero bans which makes a total of four heroes completely unplayable in the match. This is a neat system as certain heroes can be quite overpowering in the ranked mode. Below is a list of five heroes we believe are worth banning in Marvel Rivals ranked mode.

The heroes that players should ban during Marvel Rivals ranked mode

1) Hela

Hela is among the several Duelist heroes of Marvel Rivals. With her abilities, she can deal great damage to enemies from a long range. Hela also has a decent amount of mobility as she can fly away from tricky duels and can float slowly to the ground.

As of now, Hela is easily one of the strongest Duelists of Marvel Rivals. Her Nightsword Thorns can quickly shred enemies' health and her ultimate — Goddess of Death — can win rounds by itself. Banning Hela in the higher ranks is a common sight and truly makes a lot of difference.

2) Hawkeye

Hawkeye is another Duelist hero in Marvel Rivals whose abilities can do immense amounts of damage from long range. The only aspect that Hawkeye lacks is his mobility as he only has a Skyward Leap to perform a double jump. This makes him very vulnerable in close-range duels.

Like Hela, Hawkeye is currently one of the best Duelists to use in Marvel Rivals. His Piercing Arrows are extremely strong and can even take down Vanguards with just two headshots. A good Hawkeye player can be an absolute menace to face off against. His ultimate — Supersensory Vision — can also contribute heavily to his kill count.

3) Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is one of the few Vanguard heroes available in Marvel Rivals. His abilities allow him to absorb and block huge chunks of damage. This helps his teammates in pushing forward toward the objective. He also has a decent amount of mobility wherein he can use his Cloak levitate in the air for a few seconds.

In this current meta, Doctor Strange is easily one of the strongest Vanguards in the game. His Daggers of Denak have a good amount of range and the ultimate — Eye of Agamotto — can be an absolute game changer.

However, the best ability of Doctor Strange is easily his Shield of the Seraphim as it can block loads of damage and has a very short recharge time after it is broken. This shield can also be a direct counter to ultimate abilities like Hela's Goddess of Death, Groot's Strangling Prison, and even Doctor Strange's own Eye of Agamotto.

4) Luna Snow

Luna Snow comes under the Strategist category of heroes in Marvel Rivals. By using her abilities, she can heal her teammates and even infuse them with a damage boost. She also has a good amount of mobility as her passive allows her to move quickly using the ice skates and even jump higher than usual.

When it comes to the current Strategists of Marvel Rivals, Luna Snow is easily the strongest of them. Her Light & Dark Ice is great for both healing allies and damaging enemies. Ice Arts can take this even further to almost instantly healing allies and destroying enemies' health bars. Luna Snow also has the Absolute Zero which completely freezes enemies for a few seconds but is most useful in canceling enemies' ultimate abilities.

However, the most powerful part of Luna is her ultimate — Date of both Worlds — which grants allies either double damage or healing continuously for 13 seconds. This ability feels extremely broken and can easily win rounds for your team.

5) Wolverine

Wolverine is another Duelist hero from Marvel Rivals, and his abilities allow him to do huge amounts of damage in close-range battles. His damage output also builds up over time with the help of his Rage and can even grant him bonus health. Wolverine also has a decent amount of mobility tools that allow him to leap towards or away from his enemies.

At the beginning of the game's launch, many players dismissed Wolverine as one of the worst Duelists. But, he's quickly moved up the ranks after only a few weeks. Wolverine's strongest part is easily his Feral Leap which allows him to pin any enemy and then chain it into a combo of Claw slashes.

His Leap is also used by many players to pin the Vanguards on the enemy team and take them out of the map's bounds to kill them instantly. Essentially, he can be the perfect counter to Vanguards like Magneto or Doctor Strange.
