FIFA 18 is set to be released in early September this year, and as with every year, excitement remains high for the release of the most popular football console game franchise in the world.
The Indian national team will remain part of the group of national teams in FIFA 18, and with the Blue Tigers’ recent jump into the top 100 of FIFA rankings, a source close to EA Sports confirmed that there is a possibility of five Indian players having more than 70 overall rating.
Until now, no Indian player has been rated above 70 in any iteration of FIFA, so having five players over the 70 mark will be another feather in this generation of Indian players’ caps, following their breaking into the FIFA top 100.

Here are the five Indian players who will have an overall rating of 70 in FIFA 18.
#1 Gurpreet Singh Sandhu
The goalkeeper who currently plies his trade for Norwegian club Stabaek will finally get justice to his talents as he is going to be rated 70+ in FIFA 18. The 6'4" shot-stopper recently led India in a friendly against Cambodia and he is one player who definitely deserves a rating of 70 or above.
#2 Sunil Chhetri
The Indian national team captain and all-time record goalscorer was a certainty to have an overall rating of more than 70 even before EA drew up plans for FIFA 18. The Bengaluru FC forward is undoubtedly one of the best players in Indian football, hence he deserves an overall of 70 at the very least.
#3 Sandesh Jhingan
The bruising defender has been one of the most popular names in the Indian team and had a fine season with Kerala Blasters in ISL 2016. Jhingan is also set to have a 70+ rating in FIFA 18, which is the least he deserves for his rapid rise to national team stardom.
#4 Jeje Lalpekhlua
The Mizo striker had a poor outing in the recently concluded I-League season, but he has been a solid performer for the Indian national team over the years. The 26-year-old is another player who will have his FIFA 18 rating over 70, which will make it easier to play as India in the game against other established national teams.
#5 Eugeneson Lyngdoh
Bengaluru FC’s midfield metronome is probably a surprise inclusion given his poor ISL and I-League campaigns, but his reputation in the Indian game as a national team mainstay means the Shillong-born Lyngdoh will be another Indian to have more than 70 rating in FIFA 18.
With five players having more than 70 overall rating in FIFA 18, India promises to be a pretty enjoyable team to play with. It might even allow us to beat the likes of Germany and Brazil with our own set of Indian stars, and it’s been about time FIFA considered rating the Indian stars fairly. Finally, in FIFA 18, we could have a fairly good Indian team.
