The developers of Genshin Impact have officially announced the date of the Special Program for the upcoming version 4.2 update. The show will be premiered on the game's official Twitch account on October 27, 2023, at 8 am (UTC-4). During the Special Program, the developers will reveal all the upcoming content in version 4.2, including the banners, time-limited events, and a new region.

Fortunately, several leaks have shared information about the aforementioned content in Genshin Impact. This article lists some of the major announcements that travelers can expect in the upcoming version 4.2 Special Program livestream.

1) Event Wishes

Here is a list of all the characters that are expected to be in the Event Wishes of version 4.2:

Phase I (November 8 to November 29)

• Baizhu (5-star Dendro)
• Charlotte (4-star Cryo)
• Beidou (4-star Electro)
• Collei (4-star Dendro)

Phase II (November 29 to December 20)

• Ayato (5-star Hydro)
• Cyno (5-star Electro)
• Xiangling (4-star Pyro)
• Kuki Shinobu (4-star Electro)
• Kirara (4-star Dendro)

Based on the leaks via @hxg, Furina and Charlotte will likely debut in the first phase of Genshin Impact 4.2. Additionally, Baizhu is also expected to get his first rerun banner in this half. Meanwhile, Cyno and Ayato are speculated to be in the second phase.

2) Furina and Charlotte's kit

Furina and Charlotte are the two latest additions to the Genshin Impact roster. During the Special Program, the developers will officially reveal everything about their kit and gameplay. That said, there is already plenty of information available from the v4.2 beta leaks, indicating Charlotte to be a healer and a Cryo sub-DPS with a similar Elemental Skill as Nahida's.

Meanwhile, Furina appears to be a sub-DPS and support unit that can provide massive damage buffs to her party members. It is also hinted that she has healing abilities in her Elemental Skill. However, these are only leaks, and the official data will be revealed during the livestream.

3) New weekly boss

The Instagram post above by @ayakaflakes showcases the upcoming weekly boss in Genshin Impact. It is believed that it can be unlocked after completing the Fontaine Archon Quests. There is not much information about the new weekly boss currently, but it is speculated to be Childe's whale. Interestingly, its silhouette was also teased at the end of Act IV of Archon Quest Chapter IV.

4) Two new areas in Fontaine - Erinnyes Forest and Morte Region

Genshin Impact 4.2 is expected to release two new areas to further expand Fontaine's map. One of the locations is called Morte Region, located northeast of Belleau Region. Meanwhile, the other area is called Erinnyes Forest and should be located north of the Fountain of Lucine and Opera Epiclese.

Additionally, based on the leaks, the version 4.2 map will also release the Lumidouce Harbor, which connects Fontaine to Liyue via Chenyu Vale.

HoYoverse is expected to conclude the Narzissenkreuz World Quest series and the Fontaine Archon Quest with its final Act V or VI in Genshin Impact 4.2. Interestingly, the upcoming patch is titled Masquerade of the Guilty, which is the same as the title teased in the Teyvat Storyline Travail Preview. This means many things related to Fontaine will be revealed.

Additionally, leaks have hinted at some major plot details surrounding Sandrone, Arlecchino, Childe, a potential Skirk (Childe's master) introduction, and Abyss lore as part of the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.2 content.
