Zenless Zone Zero has recently announced some quality-of-life features for the next two updates. Among all the upcoming changes, the Manual Chain Attack button stands out for its potential to elevate the combat experience.
According to the official post, this functionality will be added to the squad lineup interface, where you can choose the characters for commissions or training. Switching on the Manual Chain Attack will prevent agents from triggering coordinated strikes.
The developers will also add a Cancel Chain Attack Combo feature into the mix, giving the option to use the mechanic the way you prefer. You can either take complete charge of how your character will engage in a battle or use the automated functionality to enjoy more laidback gameplay.
2) Fairy Assistance for uncollected missions rewards
Zenless Zone Zero must do a few things to stay relevant, like adding community-driven events and better boss fights, but most importantly, the title should simplify the HDD system. This is a crucial gameplay loop consisting of a series of television screens. You can use the screens to traverse the Hollow as Eous, the Bangboo assistant.
Since most of the Story Commissions and Explorable missions are locked behind this mechanic, you can collect rewards along the way. However, there’s a chance to miss out on the freebies while navigating through a complex Hollow Visualization TV Wall. To tackle this issue, HoYoverse will introduce Fairy Assistance in update 1.2 of ZZZ.
You can use this feature to retrieve all the uncollected mission rewards after meeting certain requirements.
3) Freedom to change time
The Zenless Zone Zero time system is unlike any gacha game from HoYoverse. It correlates with a variety of commissions and NPC appearances throughout New Eridu. However, there’s limited freedom when it comes to changing the time. You can only switch between the essential periods of the day, i.e., Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Midnight.
Even then, you cannot change from Morning to Midnight right away. Time can be advanced from one segment to the next by completing commissions or taking a nap. Fortunately, the developers have plans to introduce optimizations in patch 1.2 that will let you freely change time after reaching a certain Inter-Knot Level.
4) Customizable UI buttons for mobile
Combat in Zenless Zone Zero is extremely fast-paced. Hence, mobile players might need some time to master the controls and gameplay. Furthermore, there’s no customization option for the UI buttons, which makes learning more difficult.
This will soon be remedied with the introduction of different preset plans on mobile or tablet. The control customization feature will be added in the next update, per Renovation Talk Vol. 1.
5) Changes to automatic accelerated playback
It appears that most of the HDD system optimization will roll out in update 1.2 of Zenless Zone Zero. The developers will make some quality-of-life changes to the automatic accelerated playback function. When enabled, the streaming will no longer be interrupted by other events to ensure a smooth and immersive gameplay experience.
