Since Firefly is one of the most anticipated characters in Honkai Star Rail, many players pulled for her after her debut. Most players are up to date with the recent meta, so they will face little to no complications when building and playing her. However, there will always be a small percentage of players who are likely to make some mistakes with Firefly.

This article details five mistakes you should avoid while playing Firefly in Honkai Star Rail.

What mistakes should you avoid when playing Firefly in Honkai Star Rail?

1) Building with wrong stats

Firefly is an easy DPS unit to build. Since most of her damage scales with Break Effect, you should be prioritizing that stat first then the rest of the stats such as SPD, ATK, and more.

As Firefly is one of the new characters, many players might not know what stats they should look for when building her, leading to wasted resources such as Trailblaze Power. If you are facing complications while building Firefly, you can refer to our Honkai Star Rail Firefly build.

2) Placing Firelfy in the wrong team compositions

When you’re done building Firefly, you will have to place her in a team to complete various activities that Honkai Star Rail offers. Since some of the activities are quite challenging, you will want to look into meta teams to complete them.

However, Firefly’s abilities scale with Break Effect, which means you will need to pair her with other units that also scale with the aforementioned stat. Pairing this Stellaron Hunter with characters like Harmony Trailblazer, Ruan Mei, and Gallagher is the best choice since they all scale with Break Effect.

3) Running double DPS characters

One of the common mistakes that you can make is running double DPS units in a Firefly team. Running a double DPS character in the same team as the Stellaron Hunter doesn’t benefit the latter.

Since Firefly performs best in a hypercarry team composition, running double DPS units in the same team will hinder her fighting prowess. While most players think double DPS characters mean more damage, a hypercarry team composition with the right characters that have a great synergy with Firefly will bring out her true potential. Additionally, you can refer to our Firefly Honkai Star Rail teams guide if you’re having trouble building a team.

4) Overprioritizing a single stat

Another thing that you should be looking out for when building Firefly in Honkai Star Rail is not to overprioritize a single stat. Since you only need a total of 180% Break Effect on Firefly, which can be easily achieved, you should also look for other stats that can benefit her.

If you are wondering what stats you should prioritize, they are Break Effect, ATK%, and SPD. Flat ATK is also good on Firefly, but it depends on what other sub-stats you have on her relic pieces.

5) Focusing on an enemy inflicted with Weakness Brake

When fighting with Firefly in Honkai Star Rail, it is not recommended to deal damage to adversaries who are affected by the Weakness Break Effect status effect. Since most of the former’s damage comes from inflicting Weakness Break, if the enemies are already affected by it, then Firefly won't be able to deal as much damage to them.

However, this doesn't mean that you shouldn’t deal damage to them at all. You can still attack them, but your main focus should always be opponents who are not inflicted with the Weakness Break status effect.
