Hulk is considered one of the weaker Vanguards (Tanks) in Marvel Rivals. He is seemingly quite easy to take down and offers minimal value according to the community. However, his kit, when used properly, has the potential to beat any hero in a 1v1, snowballing into a team wipe in seconds. Hulk’s dive capability in the game is unmatched, and in the proper hands, he is almost unstoppable, especially with a proper team composition built around him.
This article lists five reasons why Hulk might secretly be the meta Vanguard in NetEase's new Marvel shooter game.

5 reasons to consider Hulk a meta Vanguard in Marvel Rivals
1) Three different forms
Hulk is the only hero in who, because of his Bruce Banner form, doesn't die immediately when taken down. He instead changes into his Bruce Banner form, which although weak, gives him a chance to fall back and recharge his ultimate safely all the while helping out his team the best he can.
This allows Hulk to remain on the battlefield for a longer period and almost completely negates the respawn time if played correctly which is the perfect trait for a Vanguard. Furthermore, this essentially means Hulk has the maximum health among all the Vanguards in Marvel Rivals.
2) Clinical team-up abilities
Hulk is part of two team-ups in Marvel Rivals. This enables him to be a part of a variety of team compositions, ramping up the overall potential of the roster.
The first team-up he is a part of is called Gamma Charge, which he shares with Iron Man and Doctor Strange. In this case, Hulk is the team-up anchor providing Gamma Energy to both Iron Man and Doctor Strange, essentially powering up their abilities. However, being a team-up anchor, he gains +150 max health for both Hero Hulk and Monster Hulk forms, making him an extremely strong Vanguard.
Hulk shares his other team-up with Wolverine, whom he can throw toward opponents for a lethal combo.
3) Incredible dive and damage potential
Hulk is one of the best dive Vanguards in the game. His Incredible Leap combined with Radioactive Lockdown is extremely difficult to dodge, enabling him to get close to his enemies and take them down with ease. This combo is even deadlier when in Monster Hulk form, as he can then target enemies with his ultimate, World Breaker, for a swift takedown without much counterplay.
Furthermore, Gamma Burst and Heavy Blow combined can dish out a significant amount of damage, especially against Duelists, making Hulk in Marvel Rivals an unstoppable frontline character.
4) Shielding capability
Hulk possesses the powerful shielding ability, Indestructible Guard. Upon casting this ability, Hulk generates a gamma shield for himself and his allies within a 5m radius. This grants Hulk an additional 250 health which is massive considering his already high health of 800 in the game. Therefore, now with a total of more than 1000 health, Hulk is extremely difficult to take down, especially when his natural playstyle is jumping around and causing chaos on the battlefield.
Furthermore, Hulk’s allies get an extra 100 health, owing to this ability, which lets him smash around for a while without manually tanking for his team.
5) Advanced movement
Apart from the exceptional Tank traits Hulk possesses as a Vanguard, he is also a menace on the battlefield. Hulk’s movement, using Incredible Leap, is difficult to master, especially in the heat of battle. However, once you get the hang of it, Hulk can be quite annoying to track when you can continuously jump around and cling on to walls. A Vanguard who is tanky and has problematic movement is definitely a meta option when it comes to an ability-heavy game like Marvel Rivals.
Furthermore, Hulk’s Incredible Leap can knock down airborne heroes, which makes him particularly strong against some of the more powerful characters in the game like Iron Man and Star Lord.
