Following the release of Marvel Rivals, fans can witness some notable similarities between Iron Man and Pharah. Both characters' abilities mainly focus on projectile attacks in their respective titles. Pharah is a Damage hero in Overwatch 2, equipped with launchers and high explosive rockets that come from her battlesuit.

On the other hand, Iron Man is a Duelist in Marvel Rivals, who uses missiles and beam attacks to inflict damage.

This article highlights some similarities between the two strongest characters in their respective titles.

Similarities between Iron Man in Marvel Rivals and Pharah from Overwatch 2

1) Aerial character

Iron Man and Pharah are both characters that can take aerial fights. Pharah’s Jump Jet ability allows her to hover in the air. She can use her abilities, while airborne, and dish out massive damage to enemies. Similarly, Iron Man’s Hyper Velocity allows him to fly into the air and cause significant damage to adversaries from above.


2) Ultimates

Both of them have similar Ultimates that affect a large area. Iron Man’s Ultimate, Invincible Pulse Cannon, unleashes catastrophic damage upon hitting the ground. This is one of the strongest powers of the character and can easily take down a group of enemies. Similarly, in Overwatch 2, Pharah's Barrage ability launches thirty rockets per second that deal massive damage to multiple enemies, concurrently.

3) Countered by Hitscan character

As mentioned previously, Pharah primarily uses aerial attacks. The problem, though, is that these can easily be countered by Hitscan characters like Tracer and Sombra. Tracer's Pulse Pistol and Machine Pistol abilities are great examples of effective counters.

Similarly, Iron Man can be weakened by Hitscan characters, such as The Punisher and Winter Soldier, in the game. The Punisher's Adjudication ability and Winter Soldier's Roterstern ability are great counters.

4) Team-up sprit

Both characters excel with consistent support from characters who provide damage boosts. Pharah can be a great pair with Mercy, who is an excellent Support hero in Overwatch. With Mercy’s Caduceus Staff, she can easily survive long in the battleground.

In Marvel Rivals, Iron Man's Team-Up ability with Hulk and Doctor Strange provides him with a gamma upgrade that enhances his powers.

5) Primary fire

The Primary fire of both characters is quite alike. Pharah’s Rocket Launcher ability fires a long-range explosive projectile that deals decent damage to targeted enemies. On the other hand, Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast works similarly, firing nano pulse cannons and dealing lethal damage to targets.
