Genshin Impact: 5 reasons to pull for Kinich
1) Unique Playstyle
Kinich is one of those characters who has a unique playstyle, especially when in combat. When his Elemental Skill is cast, he will use his grapple gun and create a link between him and his enemy. He then swings around the linked enemy, dealing Dendro damage with normal attacks, while giving you Nightsoul Points that you can consume to deal an instance of a strong Dendro attack.
There is also a mini-game aspect to Kinich's kit, where you will see a spot randomly marked on the ground around the enemy. Swinging over to that spot will grant you extra Nightsoul Points. All these gameplay mechanics make him a fun and interesting character to play.
2) High Damage Potential
Kinich's main source of damage in his kit comes from his Elemental Skill. When you have enough Nightsoul Points in his Elemental Skill state, you can cast your Elemental Skill again, which will make Kinich use his Scalespiker Cannon to deal a high amount of Dendro damage. Moreover, the Scalespiker Cannon in his Elemental Skill has a massive 1,168.6% damage multiplier at talent level 9.
3) Great for Exploration in Natlan
Much like the previously released Natlan characters, Kinich also has a special ability that can be useful while exploring Natlan. Similar to the Yumkasaur Saurian's ability, when his Elemental Skill is cast out of combat, he can grapple in the air to reach high places and cover great distances with ease.
4) Great Main DPS for a Burn/Burgeon Team
A big chunk of Kinich's kit revolves around doing Dendro-related Burn and Burgeon reactions. When enemies hit by Kinich's Elemental Skill undergo either a Burning or a Burgeon reaction, he gains an additional 7 Nightsoul Points every 0.8 seconds through one of his passive talents. It lets you gain max Nightsoul Points faster, which will aid you in using his high-scaling Elemental Skill attack more often. This allows him to become a great main DPS option for these team compositions.
5) Free-to-play Friendly to build
Apart from his signature weapon, the new craftable 4-star Claymore, Earth Shaker, is a great free-to-play weapon option for Kinich. Along with its high Base ATK and an additional attack boost in its secondary stat, the weapon's passive will further increase Kinich's Elemental Skill damage whenever a party member triggers a Pyro-related elemental reaction. This passive synergizes well with his best-in-slot team compositions, which include Burn and Burgeon teams.
