Five things to know about Dragon Age: The Veilguard
1) The game's placement within the timeline of the franchise
The game is the fourth entry in the main-line franchise, excluding DLCs, browser games, and other lore-accurate mobile games and spin-off entries. The game was originally called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf but the title was changed earlier this year to the current name. The game will be a direct sequel to 2014's Dragon Age: Inquisition.
2) The platforms it is available on
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is slated to launch on the PlayStation 5, PC, and the Xbox Series X and S on October 31, 2024. Unlike its predecessor, there will be no ports for eighth-generation consoles, namely the PS4 and Xbox One. The game will also be playable offline.
3) The location of the game's campaign

4) No requirement to have played the previous games to understand the campaign and story

The game can be played as a stand-alone title in the franchise while some former characters from the franchise may appear across the campaign, the feature to import previous games' worlds into the new games is not available.
5) Character customization with multitude of options
The game will include a detailed character creator, within which, the player can choose the lineage of their character. They can also pick the class, modify their appearance, and much more. Depending upon the faction chosen, there will be slight differences in gameplay.
