The video game Deadpool was released in 2013 on the seventh generation of consoles and later ported to the eighth generation. This was the first-ever video game adaptation of The Merc with a Mouth, which was delisted twice from all digital storefronts. However, with Deadpool & Wolverine coming out soon, fans have been trying to get their hands on the physical version of the game to play.

Many Youtubers are trying to 100% the game while waiting for the film threequel. While it did not impress critics, it did make a great impression on fans. With the film on its way, we wondered what a sequel to the video game would look like if it got greenlit.

To that end, here are 5 things we would like to see in a potential Deadpool sequel.

These are 5 things we would like to see in a Deadpool sequel

1) A dedicated Wolverine storyline

With Wolverine being a main attraction of the upcoming film, we would like to see him appear in a potential sequel of the game as well. Since he is a part of Deadpool's comic adventures, his appearance can be a simple cameo or a full-flegded mission. We did get to see him in the first game, but it just featured players slapping him rapidly by mashing a button.

2) Gameplay variety

A Deadpool hack-and-slash, especially with katanas and guns, sounds extremely fun on paper. However, with the limited combat system, it became repetitive too quickly, with players experiencing only minor changes even after progressing in the story and unlocking an armada of weapons. In a potential sequel, we would love to see a more advanced combat system with diverse mechanics which can keep the combat fresh.

3) Nolan North reprising his role as Deadpool

In the game, legendary voice actor Nolan North — known for his role as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series — portrayed Deadpool. The game begins with the anti-hero hiring North to voice him for the project. He understands the character and his personality, which allows him to portray the hero as funny and likable.

If a sequel should happen, North should return to play Deadpool as there's no one else more fitting.

4) Ryan Reynolds cameo

Ryan dons the fan-favorite red suit to bring the character to life in the live-action movies. With Deadpool's habit of constantly breaking the fourth wall by mentioning various other characters and franchises, it would be fun to have a bit with Ryan Reynolds in the game in classic Deadpool fashion. It would be even better if the actor himself showed up for a small cameo to break the fourth wall.

5) More violence

The films are rife with gore and violence, which is why they are rated R. While the first game managed to incorporate an impressive amount of violent takedowns and bloody combat, the sequel can go a step further to take advantage of today's graphics. With more realistic animations and moveset, the game can make the Merc with a Mouth feel like a genuine threat to whoever is foolish enough to face him.

Conclusion

While there are little to no chances of the game getting a sequel, we can still be hopeful to see it release one day. The first game was good enough for the first-ever solo game for Deadpool, and there is a lot of potential for the character in the video game world. Never say never!
