The month of October 2024 is expected to be quite eventful for Genshin Impact players. Not only will it see the release of the upcoming 5.1 update, but also the addition of a plethora of new content including the debut of a new Geo character. Moreover, many in-game characters will also celebrate their birthdays during this period.

5 major Genshin Impact events expected in October 2024

1) Genshin Impact 5.1 release

One of the major highlights for Genshin Impact during October 2024 will be the release of the 5.1 update. It will go live on October 9, 2024, and will further the narrative in the Natlan region.

Players will be able to engage in the new Acts of the Archon Quest and Tribal Chronicles. Additionally, HoYoverse will also add some exciting events offering lucrative rewards in the patch.

2) New characters and weapons

As announced already, Xilonen will be a new Geo character debuting in version 5.1. She will be featured alongside the rerun banners of Chiori, Nahida, and Hu Tao. Furthermore, the signature weapons of the aforementioned characters will also become available on the Epitome Invocation weapons banner in October 2024.

3) Genshin Impact 5.2 drip marketing

Information from @ProjectENKA1 on X suggests that the drip marketing campaign for version 5.2 will take place on October 7, 2024, like in past occasions. The developers will reveal the upcoming limited-time characters ahead of v5.1's release and it is speculated Chasca and Ororon may be teased. While the former has already appeared in the storyline, not much is known about the latter yet.

4) Genshin Impact 5.2 Beta

Alongside v5.1's release, the Closed Beta Test for the 5.2 update is also expected to commence on October 9, 2024. Selected players will be able to partake in it to experience the new content planned for the future patch.

Like past instances, fans can expect a flurry of leaks following the beginning of the 5.2 beta and will want to keep an eye out for details regarding the gameplay and kits of new characters and their weapons.
