The Brock Lesnar-starring 2K Showcase mode originally planned for 2K17 was eventually abandoned, due to some issues of character rights, much to the dismay of the fans.
However, this time around things are looking up for the wrestling fans and gamers alike. There have been persistent rumours that Kurt Angle will be making some sort of a WWE return (possibly in a GM/managerial capacity). It could be an exciting proposition to have him as 2K18's cover athlete and star of the game's hopefully-restored Showcase.

Angle's illustrious career speaks for itself and keeping in mind the trend for legendary cover wrestlers to appear on WWE programming (Goldberg, Warrior and Sting) as well as the prior success of the Showcase, this could be a huge decision to bolster the precious pre-order sales.
