Storm Point in Apex Legends has a wide range of POIs (Points of Interest) where your squad can drop and prepare for the inevitable fights. However, a few of the locations are quite bland and can sour your overall experience with low-tier loot and inefficient rotation routes. It is best to learn about such places before dropping into a ranked game to form strategies and avoid the worst drop spots.
Storm Point in Apex Legends is located on the planet Gaea and features a lush green area and fragmented lands on shallow water. Like all maps of EA’s battle royale, there is a lot of verticality alongside smaller areas that contain large structures and smaller buildings throughout the arena. It is a vibrant map that features special relocation stations called Gravity Cannons that can send players flying across the map.
This article will highlight the worst drop spots in Storm Point in Apex Legends.

What are the worst drop spots in Storm Point in Apex Legends?
1) Black Sand Islands
Black Sand Islands is located on the outskirts of the map and has a limited area where you can find any form of loot. It can be a disadvantageous position to stay in — be it at the start of the game or during the final circles. This is primarily because of its lack of cover and being in between hot zones where most teams prefer to land and fight.

Black Sand Islands is located between North Pad and The Wall POIs. Being in this area alone will put your lives in danger with a free target on the squad’s back. All teams from The Wall generally choose to either make their way to North Pad or Command Center. This makes it difficult for you to participate in fights with limited loot since the only way to get out of the place is through some open grounds.
2) Trenches
Trenches is located alongside the North Pad POI and consist of shallow tunnels with little to no cover. While it connects to a few smaller outposts around the area, the loot can often be less than satisfactory and might not be enough for the whole team. You would need to gather everything available and make your way into one of the bigger areas for better loot.
Trenches is in between North Pad and Checkpoint, making it a hot zone for gunfights during the late rounds. It is also quite close to Downed Beast which makes it quite dangerous to hold in case the final circles shift toward North Pad. It is best to occupy one of the outposts rather than remain inside the tunnels. Enemy teams can spam grenades in these spots and quickly wipe your squad.
3) Medina Island
Medina Island is a scarce piece of land on the outskirts of Storm Point in Apex Legends. It has a few houses around, that can spawn basic tier loot usually enough for two players to gear up. However, it is lacking in cover and has limited escape routes. Even when relocating, your squad would need to take a risk and choose to go through highly populated areas.

Medina Island is located beside Cenote Cave and The Mill — both of which are high-tier loot zones. The best outcome would be to move out of this space alive with the worst being taking a fight against opponents who have better loot. With a limited amount of ammo and meds, it is best to avoid this location while dropping in Storm Point in Apex Legends.
4) Alex’s Crossing
Alex’s Crossing can prove to be a power position in the final rounds but is disappointing as a drop spot. It only has one small house near the bridge which might not even be enough to fully kit one player. This place connects Barometer and Cenote Cave where a lot of teams drop to find high-tier loot.
Encroaching on either POI can result in a squad wipe so you would have to travel to the broken down IMC toward Siren Isle. However, this area might already have a few teams fighting after looting The Mill. Dropping on Alex’s Crossing will put your team in a disadvantageous situation from the start while everyone scatters to find weapons and heal.
5) River’s Center
River’s Center is a cluster of long single and double-floor houses and a few walls. This place can provide you with beginner-level loot at best without many attachments. The closest escape route would be the ziplines present on Mountain Lift that connect to the Command Center POI. Alternatively, you can try your luck with the Gravity Cannon and jump over to The Lagoon.

River’s Center is present near Cascade Falls, which is a hot zone, and Forbidden Zone where teams eventually rotate in to take fights. This is one of the POIs that sees a lot of action toward the later zones if the circle forms near it. It is best to steer clear of this region when dropping to avoid being caught up in the crossfire of other teams.
