5 WWE legends who should be included in WWE 2K18

The Undertaker will definitely be in the game

Roster size has never been a problem for 2K Sports’ WWE video games. Last year’s instalment had 136 Superstars on its roster, with 26 Superstars making their video game debuts. Additionally, there were 11 extra DLC playable Superstars and it was a huge success.

The Legends pack, which was released later, saw the likes of Paul Ellering, Demolition, Legion of Doom/The Road Warriors, "The Barber" Beefcake, Eddie Guerrero, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, and others being added to the roster.

But even with those additions, there are some legends of professional wrestling who have missed out on being a part of the game. However, WWE 2K18 promises to be bigger and better.

Previously, we had listed five must-have additions to the roster. Here, we take a look at five WWE legends who should be included in the game.

#5 Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy should definitely be in the game

Matt Hardy, of course, has set the wrestling world on fire over the last year with his latest gimmick, Broken Matt Hardy. After leaving Impact Wrestling earlier this year, he joined Ring of Honor and as the current scenario stands, it is unlikely that he will be included in the game.

However, persisting rumours have suggested that he could sign with the WWE after WrestleMania 33. If this is indeed the case then we could very well get to play with him in WWE 2K18. And on the deserving front, he obviously deserves to be in the game.

An 11-time tag team champion, Matt Hardy has had a very successful career in the world of wrestling. And playing with his Broken gimmick is definitely an interesting prospect. (The chances of him appearing in that persona are slim but surely we can hope.)

And, you can’t have one Hardy without the other, can you? On a different note, Jeff should also be introduced in WWE 2K18!

#4 Luna Vachon

Luna Vachon was unique

Back in 1994, Luna Vachon became the first female wrestler to be included in a video game when, despite her objections, she was included in the WWF Raw game. The former Superstar worked her way through the independent circuit before WWF signed her on in 1992.

A descendant of the legendary Vachon wrestling family, Luna was one of the most intimidating wrestlers you would ever come across. Her mere presence was so unique that it gave her an unmatched advantage over whoever had her in their respective corner.

For two decades, she travelled around the world and dominated the female wrestling scene like no other.

Unfortunately, she was found dead in 2010 after she overdosed on a mixture of pharmaceutical prescription drugs. However, she is still a legend of the business and is someone who deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and brought back to the video game.

#3 Tito Santana

The Hall of Famer

Tito Santana was one of wrestling’s best. He was one of the most consistent performers back in the 1980s, which was the Golden Age of professional wrestling. Surprisingly, he never actually went on to win the WWF Heavyweight title.

Nevertheless, the Texas native’s enviable career boasts of two WWF Intercontinental Championships and two WWF Tag Team titles. He also wrestled at all of the first nine WrestleMania events and won the 1989 King of the Ring tournament.

It has been years since he has retired but Santana still makes several sporadic appearances and was even inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. Oddly, though, Santana has never been included in a video game. That needs to change big time.

Tito Santana should make it to the roster in WWE 2K18!

#2 Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam was a true pioneer

If you want high-flying wrestlers, the name of Rob Van Dam should be very high on your list.

The ECW-original, in his prime, was one of the best in the business. After all, he is the only wrestler in history to have held the WWE Championship, the ECW World Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

He first came into the limelight in 1998 when he won the ECW World Championship, a title he would hold for a record 700 days. During his career, he won 21 championships and in 2002 he was ranked as the number one wrestler in the world by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Van Dam last made an appearance in the WWE 2K15 game but has since missed out on the next two instalments.

We don’t know about you but we certainly miss playing as him in the game. Few wrestlers have so many moves infused in them as RVD – from spin kicks to frog splashes, he could do it all.

#1 Kurt Angle

The only Olympic Gold medalist in the WWE

Kurt Angle, of course, is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame prior to WrestleMania this year by none other than John Cena. Angle last appeared in a WWE game on WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 but has been absent ever since.

The celebrated wrestler made his in-ring debut back in 1998 and within two years he held the European Championship and the Intercontinental Championship at the same time. Soon, he would go on to win the WWF Championship. During his career, he won the world championship in WWF/WWE for a total of six times.

We would love to have him in the game, where he would certainly be one of the top wrestlers. And the Hall of Fame induction only indicates that Kurt Angle is likely to be in WWE 2K18. Imagine winning over your opponent by forcing him into submission through an Angle lock! Sweet.
