6 best Archetypes for Strohl in Metaphor ReFantazio
1) Warrior
The Warrior archetype can be acquired early into Strohl's Bond rank progression. It can act as an early-game boon in combat due to its high damage output and increases the Slash damage attack power and damage rate.
Slicer deals multiple hits to enemies, while Slash Boost increases slash attack by 20%. Within it, the Barge Past hero passive will also help in not providing the enemy with the advantage and upper hand in combat during overworld battles.
Requirements: Bond Level 1 with Strohl.
2) General
The General Archetype requires progression in Bardon's bond and can add new abilities which can greatly help in combat situations. This archetype helps mix together attack and defensive skills, which can be a boon during tense fights. Matarukaja increases the attack strength of all allies for three turns, while Frigid Fortress Tactic can deal heavy Ice damage to an opponent.
This, when paired with a skill such as Ice Dodge, which increases evasion against all attacks can make it a great archetype for enemies prone to Ice damage. Additionally, Enhanced Cooperation is the Passive in this archetype, which increases the likelihood of enemies being stunned by attacks in overworld combat.
Requirements: Bond level 3 with Bardon, and Commander level 20.
3) Royal Warrior
Arguably, Strohl's best archetype is the one exclusive to him. The Royal Warrior archetype is a perfect blend of defense, offense and evasion, which can make Strohl an invaluable asset to the party when equipped. For instance, Martial Lore increases all base attack power by 50%, while Slash Surge increases Slash attack by 30%.
When paired with a skill such as Concentrate, which can increase the caster's attack by three ranks for three turns, it makes Strohl very advantageous in combat. However, do note that this requires a lot of grinding in order to be unlocked.
Requirements: Bond level 8 with Strohl, Samurai rank 20, and Warlord rank 20.
4) Samurai
Samurai can be a great archetype towards the middle to end of the game, which can help greatly increase attack strength for Strohl. The focus of this archetype, as the name suggests, lies in increasing the Slash damage output for Strohl.
Giant Slice deals medium Slash damage to an enemy, while Thunder Blade can deal lots of Electric damage to a foe. The Regenerate skill acquired in later ranks under this archetype can also help recover a good amount of HP every turn, making this a great archetype to use.
Requirements: Bond level 7 with Strohl, Swordmaster rank 20, and General Rank 10.
5) Martial Artist
The Martial Artist archetype blends together attack skills with healer skills, making Strohl more of an all-rounder on the battlefield. Additionally, there are two Passive skills in this archetype, which can greatly assist against powerful enemies during combat.
Meditation recovers some HP and cures Burn and Frostbite, while Hell Thrust can deal heavy physical Pierce damage to an opponent, lowering their defense for three turns. Unyielding Blood allows a party member to survive one fatal attack per battle, while the Battle Master skill prevents the effects of Poison, Hex, Frostbite, Burn, Malady and Paralysis.
Requirements: Bond rank 8 with Catherina, and rank 20 in Pugilist.
6) Swordmaster
Swordmaster is an evolution of the Warrior archetype and can increase Strohl's physical damage capabilities further. This archetype mainly focuses on Slash damage and can even increase the strength of basic attacks.
Slash Dodge increases evasion against Slash attacks, while Raging Edge can deal a hefty amount of physical Slash damage to enemies. The Martial Lore skill can increase attack power for basic attacks by 50%, and the Hero Passive Barge Past helps take away the enemy advantage when a battle begins in the overworld.
Requirements: Bond rank 3 with Strohl, and rank 20 in Warrior.
