Hades is one of the best roguelike games to come out in recent years. It has an incredible story and also has some of the most fluid combat mechanics, possibly the best in the roguelike genre.

Since it has the replayability of a roguelike, new runs don't feel like a reskin or a similar version of an old run. The game has been built in such a way that every new run feels a little different and you can't quite predict the outcomes by playing enough.

The game also offers unique mechanics such as the "boon system" and permanent upgrades which you can use to fight in the game. Hades is still in Early Access on Steam but it has been one of the best indie releases so far.

#1 Baba is You

Baba Is You hits the #1 spot for underrated indie games for the PC. Baba Is You is a puzzle game that has levels as you progress. The objective is simply to find your way through obstacles and capture the flag to clear the level.

Baba Is You is a very unique and silly concept. You have to push around "blocks" of words in order to achieve magical effects. In the image above, you can't move past the water because it is Hot. But you can push the block out and replace it with the "float" block in the BABA IS YOU AND FLOAT and you can float on the water.

There are many such variations but that is how the game is played. It requires a lot of thinking and the puzzles can get incredibly difficult. But that doesn't stop it from being so incredibly fun.
