Bioware's latest RPG hit, Dragon Age The Veilguard isn't lacking in quantity when it comes to loot. The game showers you with a variety of items at every step, whether it be through combat encounters, quests, bosses, or exploration — each with its own types, states, and unique gimmicks, allowing you to fine-tune your combat build and deal maximum damage to your enemies.

However, there are a few unique items available that can help you immensely in your quest. Here are a few of them that you should use in your Dragon Age The Veilguard playthroughs.

Exploring seven must-have items in Dragon Age The Veilguard

1) Iron Veil

  • Equipment type: Light helmet
  • Stats: +44 defense and +30% ability damage.
  • Effects: Whenever an enemy dies, it spawns an apparition that attacks enemies and deals necrotic damage.

Located in the eastern zone of Arlathan Forest, Rook needs to find and activate three beam turrets and align them towards their receptacles. Following this, you need to defeat the Guardians of Secrets boss fight to claim this prized helm.


2) Call of the Hall

  • Equipment type: Ring
  • Stats: None
  • Effects: +50% takedown damage and stagger; gain a random advantage buff when you perform a takedown.

You'll need to progress through Taash's arc to acquire access to the Hall of Valor, following which you need to visit the said area to start a battle of attrition. You will need to fight 10 waves of enemies, each subsequent wave being tougher than the last. Complete this encounter and you will receive the unique Dragon Age The Veilguard ring.


3) Jenny's Belt

  • Equipment type: Belt
  • Stats: +500 healing
  • Effects: Using a potion causes bees to swarm enemies.

(Note: Lucanis' ability is required to acquire this item)

This item can be found in Dellamorte Estates, where you have to solve a puzzle involving rifts and statues. You need to use Lucanis' traversal power to rotate the images so that they match their spectral images. Once all four statues are facing the right direction, you can unlock the door and claim this unique belt.


4) Deathrattle

  • Equipment type: Medium helmet
  • Stats: +73 defense and +11% ability damage.
  • Effects: Gain precision when you have low health; precision hits leech 100% life when you're at low health.

To acquire this unique Dragon Age The Veilguard helmet, you must complete the Hauntings question chain, assigned by The Mourn Watch faction.


5) Paragon's Silent Gaze

  • Equipment type: Medium helm
  • Stats: +87 defense +30% ability damage.
  • Effects: Nearby enemies that are targeting you slowly deal less damage every second. This effect resets if they stop targeting you.

You can obtain this Dragon Age The Veilguard ring by moving Harding's personal questline forward till you reach one named The Heart of a Titan. Completing this quest will reward you with said ring.


6) Pillars of the Departed

  • Equipment type: Heavy armor
  • Stats: +200 defense; 0% ability damage.
  • Effects: Has very high defense but no ability damage; gain deflect and resistance when you have low health.

You need to complete the quest called Restless Spirits to unlock access to the Pinnacle of its Kind quest. This questline will see you fight against a dragon called the Formless One. You need to be fully prepared to face this monstrous foe, as the Dragon appears to the encounter capped at Level 40. Slay the Formless One to claim the unique medium armor.


7) Fade-Touched Bulwark

  • Equipment type: Heater
  • Stats: +276 physical damage; +510 stagger.
  • Effects: When you perform a perfect defense, nearby enemies are pulled toward you.

This unique item can be found in an abandoned fortress located in the northeastern region of Arlathan Forest. Destroy the blight infesting the fortress and reach the top of the fortress to claim this Dragon Age The Veilguard item.
