There are various Marvel Rivals heroes that are considered weaker than the others. While balancing is often an issue during the early stages of a game's release, it feels like some changes that NetEase made based on their beta experience didn't have the intended effect. Unlike most games, where certain characters tend to be overpowered at launch, Marvel Rivals seems to be dealing with the opposite problem.

That said, here are seven Marvel Rival heroes that should get an upgrade with upcoming patches.

7 Marvel Rivals heroes that need a buff

1) Wolverine

One of the biggest Marvel Rival heroes that the majority of players feel deserves a buff is Wolverine. While Logan's abilities aren't bad on their own, the major issues players are facing with him are his lack of a good movement option and poor tracking with his attacks. A good chunk of Wolverine's attacks can be nullified by simply moving backward or using a good movement skill.

2) Black Panther

The main issue with Black Panther is his poor mobility. Players feel that his lunge has a long cooldown, meaning you can't use it to escape any attack if you messed up earlier. Additionally, his double jump is tied to his wall run ability, putting a major caveat on his mobility, especially when compared to Spider-Man. He also has no armor when using his Ultimate, sometimes leading to premature death.

3) Storm

While having the ability to buff either the movement or damage of your allies is an interesting choice on paper, it didn't have the best implementation. As a hero who can fly in the air, Storm lacks the mobility of Iron Man, allowing a myriad of hitscan characters to shoot her down. Despite being a potential support-DPS hybrid, her move kit lacks a true offensive ability.

4) Thor

While Thor isn't necessarily a bad character, he requires much more thought than the game makes it seem. Thor isn't a defensive tank, instead he is about putting out damage and moving around the map. The main issue with him is the fact that after using any ability, the game puts a global cooldown on all of his abilities, which almost entirely uproots any opportunity to seamlessly blend abilities.

5) Peni Parker

While Peni Parker no doubt has a good movekit, it can be extremely situational. The main issue with Parker is her lack of good offensive output. She can be really good at blocking access to zones, it only works if she manages to reach the objective. It is the inability to reach the objective without relying on anyone else to clear a way that makes her one of the weaker Marvel Rivals heroes.

6) Namor

Namor is another hero who suffers from a lack of good offensive power. His trident attack is slow to launch, and while his turret is supposed to be the primary damage source, it has a short duration and a lengthy cooldown. Thus, it is one of the many Marvel Rivals heroes that would benefit from an upgrade. Poor mobility also prevents the player from getting full use out of his movekit, especially on choke points.

Namor is one of the many Marvel Rivals heroes who can greatly benefit from a buff.

7) Bruce Banner/Hulk

While Hulk was host to a few buffs at the release of the game, he still doesn't fulfill the power fantasy of being a gamma-filled weapon of doom. You'll spend most of your time in the Hero Hulk mode, where he shines as one of the most agile characters in the game. However, his Bruce Banner form is ultimately useless, which for a tank hero, provides a massive hit to his survivability.

While his reversion to Banner should definitely be weaker, it shouldn't be downright bad. The game should take a note out of D.Va's playbook to provide him a buff.

These were the seven Marvel Rivals heroes that should get a buff.
