Potential new features in EA FC 25

1) The addition of VAR

The Video Assistant Referee, popularly referred to as VAR, has taken the sport by storm. It is arguably the most revolutionary addition to football in recent years, allowing decisions to be reviewed on the spot. With how influential it has become in real life, there is no reason why it should not be included on EA FC 25's virtual pitch as well.

2) Diving and scoring from drop ball scenarios

With FIFA no longer having a say in the creative direction of the franchise, EA Sports no longer have to abide by the FIFA Fair Play rules and regulations. This means that they can include more situations in the game that feature unsportsmanlike conduct, such as diving and not giving possession to the opponent from drop ball scenarios.

Diving has been a part of other football simulations like PES and eFootball, so it can also be included effectively in EA FC 25.

3) New celebrations and cutscene animations

EA Sports always introduce new celebrations to the game every year, but they can get even more creative with the freedom they now possess. The recently released Mario Balotelli Team of the Season card in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team has a custom celebration where he takes a selfie with his teammates after scoring. This shows how there is even more scope for improvement.

EA FC 25 could even include new cutscene animations for other in-game instances like players getting angry when getting substituted off the pitch, or more graphic injuries occurring due to bad tackles and collisions.

4) New reasons for bookings

With the introduction of new animations and cutscenes, EA FC 25 could even introduce the option to instigate opponent players and fight during in-game events, leading to yellow cards for those involved. There could even be an option to do a shirtless celebration, leading to a booking for the player as well.

With FC Pro Esports gameplay being an important aspect of the franchise, this should be an option that can be disabled via settings to maintain the game's competitive integrity.

5) Realistic fans

The stadium ambience has had multiple upgrades over the years, with fans appearing more realistic with every title. There are plenty of stadium customization options in the latest game, but EA FC 25 could go a step further and introduce ultras, red flares in the stands, as well as pitch invasions during massive moments like the club winning a trophy.

6) Team sponsorship in Manager career mode

Sponsors are an integral part of the sport, especially when it comes to acquiring the funds required to run the club. These could now be added to the Manager career mode, allowing gamers to choose between offers from various brands affiliated with EA Sports. This would improve the immersion of the career mode even further, providing a more realistic experience in EA FC 25.

7) Commercials in Player career mode

Commercial cutscenes could be added like the Balon D'Or celebration in FC 24 (Image via EA Sports)

Similar to team sponsorships, players can have individual sponsors of their own in real life. Appearing in commercials and being brand ambassadors for particular companies can help improve an athlete's finances and popularity, and adding the same to the Player career mode could be a great move for EA Sports.
