7 new upcoming features and changes by Genshin Impact

In the latest Developers Discussion (September 2024), HoYoverse has announced several new features and changes that will be part of upcoming Genshin Impact updates. These include new limited-time rewards for exploring the Natlan region, a skip feature in the Spiral Abyss, and even an optimized character-building experience. Travelers can look forward to all these features in the updates that will hit the game soon.

1) Limited-time exploration reward

Starting from Genshin Impact 5.1, limited-time exploration rewards will be added whenever a new region is released, allowing one to obtain additional rewards for exploring the map. For Natlan, if you have at least 80% exploration progress in the Basin of Unnumbered Flames, Tequemecan Valley, Coatepec Mountain, and Toyac Springs, you can obtain up to 400 Primogems.

The reward distribution for each map will last for two version updates.

2) New skip feature in Spiral Abyss

A new skip feature will be added to the Spiral Abyss after the Genshin Impact 5.1 update, allowing you to skip Floor 9 and 10 depending on your progress in the previous reset. For example, you can skip Floors 9 and 10, if you cleared Floor 12 with full stars in the previous reset. Similarly, you can skip Floor 9 if you only cleared Floor 11 with full stars in the previous Abyss cycle.

The rewards will be claimable directly via the review pop-up.

You can open the Artifact Chests in the inventory obtained after clearing the Spiral Abyss in one go.

4) Optimized character-building experience

A one-stop interface will be added to the Crafting Bench to make the character level-up material calculation progress easier. You can click on the four-square icon in the bottom-left corner of the Crafting Bench interface and select a character to find all the items needed to level them up. You can also find character, talent, and weapon level-up materials individually.

When crafting, the system will precisely calculate the amount of materials you require to level up the character, talent, or weapon. For example, if you are leveling up a character, you can select the ascension phase and the system will show the exact amount you need and what you currently have.

The maximum craftable amount of material will be shown in the source information section of each level-up material. This will make it easier for you to plan your farming route.

6) Trounce Domain interface optimization

The Trounce Domain section in the Adventurer Handbook will be optimized. It will arrange all the weekly bosses based on their release, from new to old. This will make it easier for Travelers to view rewards and other details. For example, The Knave and All-Devouring Narwhal will be listed at the top, while Dvalin and Andrius will be at the bottom of the list.

7) Artifact filtering

You can create custom Artifacts Filter Plans for every character in Genshin Impact. For example, when sorting and filtering the artifact stats in the character artifact selection menu, your selections will be saved. In addition, the next time you open the artifact selection menu of that character, the artifacts will be sorted based on the saved data.

If you farmed new artifacts, these new pieces will also appear in the selection menu as per your Artifacts Filter Plans.

The skip feature in the Spiral Abyss and limited-time exploration rewards will be added in Genshin Impact 5.1. Unfortunately, the Developers Discussion did not mention when other features will be available in the game, but one can expect them to be added in the next two or three versions.
