#4. Bill Rizer and Lance Bean

Bill Rizer and Lance Bean were the primary protagonists of the 1987 NES game Contra. A new Contra was also showcased in Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct but they did not feature these characters. In fact, there hasn't been any real consistency in the protagonist names since Contra's inception.

Bill Rizer and Lance Bean stood out and are still iconic to the series. Their futuristic guns and the variety of weapons you could pick up in Contra would conceptually fit in very well in Smash Bros Ultimate.

#3. Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot has been a PlayStation exclusive for a long time but the series saw a transition into the Nintendo family of consoles over the years. Wouldn't it be great to see an Aku Aku Mask as an ability? Or what about throwing boxes of crates of TNT and other explosives?

Crash Bandicoot could seriously do well as a Smash Bros. character.
