Warzone 2's greatest tournament's In-Game Open matches, the World Series of Warzone, was scheduled to kick off in April. However, owing to major server issues, the creators were forced to postpone the Stage 1 Qualifiers. The community expressed dismay and condemned the "embarrassing" postponement. Thankfully, after much delay, the developers have revealed new dates for the WSOW 2023 Qualifiers.

In the In-Game Open matches, 50 trios from the EU and NA advanced to the Stage 1 Qualifiers. However, the private matches for the Qualifying round had severe server issues, with the servers crashing once the AIs and Stronghold spawned into the map. Thus, Activision has postponed the tournament as the server issues are being resolved.

World Series of Warzone for Warzone 2 Qualifiers will begin soon

Recently a tweet from the official Call of Duty handle revealed that the WSOW tournament would resume on May 31, 2023.

WSOW Stage 1 NA Qualifiers will kick off on May 31, and Stage 1 EU Qualifiers will start on June 1. Additionally, the Regional Finals for Stage 1 NA and EU will be held on June 7 and 8, respectively, with 25 teams advancing from the Qualifiers and 25 invited teams competing.

According to Call of Duty's official Trello board, the developers have confirmed a fix where all server-related gameplay issues will be resolved.

The issue was based on AI gameplay, so the community took the opportunity to request the developers to remove AI-based enemies from the title's battle royale. However, there is no indication of this happening. They have already released a fix concerning the server-based gameplay issues.

With the issue fixed, the upcoming Qualifying rounds are expected to be held smoothly, and players should have a hassle-free experience.

Activision Blizzard's World Series of Warzone is an esports tournament for Warzone 2. There is a $1.2 million prize pool and the first-ever LAN-based Grand Final. The winner will be recognized as the greatest Warzone 2 squad and receive a $600,000 award.
