A Resident Evil player has recently managed to discover a hidden version of Jill Valentine's costume after 28 years since the original game's launch in 1996. Interestingly, many fans have never given attention to this detail, until recently. Supposedly, Capcom may have planned a second version of Jill's outfit for RE1 but it never got revealed for her playable character in the story.

The major catalyst behind the discovery of Jill's secret costume might be the re-release of 1996's Resident Evil on PCs by GOG. The classic title is currently available for players who want to relive the nostalgia.

Jill Valentine had a secret second outfit in Resident Evil 1 from 1996

X user @Fluffyquack recently shared their experience of witnessing an unnoticed detail in the first-ever Resident Evil video game from almost three decades ago. While replaying the title, they observed that the cutscene where Tyrant appears in the game had Jill in a different costume than her usual outfit in the entire story.

In the post, viewers can see Jill on the right wearing her typical outfit during a gameplay sequence. However, the image on the left shows an altered version of the character's costume.

This rare RE discovery was subsequently highlighted by reliable insider @AestheticGamer1, aka, Dusk Golem.

Per the scooper, even he wasn't able to notice this small yet significant detail for a long time. Dusk Golem wrote that Jill's outfit from the cutscene must have been an earlier version planned for her character.

New Resident Evil game rumored to have a co-op mode

Now speaking about the future of Capcom's series, it appears that the next major installment might take inspiration from 2005's RE5. It's because the unannounced game is said to feature a co-op mode with two crucial characters, according to u/No1PiggyOnTheBlock on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.

Coupled with that, RE9 may introduce Leon Kennedy as the main protagonist while Jill Valentine is rumored to be in a supporting role. However, fans should take everything with a grain of salt until there's an official update from Capcom.
