Champion bounties

The champion bounties in League of Legends now depend on the gold earned and lost rather than the kill or death streaks or the farming amount. However, gold obtained from champion-specific sources, such as Draven’s stacks, Twisted Fate’s passive, and certain other champions, will not factor into the calculation of champion bounties.

There can now be a bounty of 1 gold as well. However, it will only be shown on the scoreboard after reaching 150 gold. Subsequent updates will occur in increments of 50 gold. Meanwhile, the "Shut Down" will be presented for any champion who is eliminated while possessing a bounty of at least 150 gold.

Positive bounties:

The positive bounty is the extra gold awarded to the player if it successfully kills a champion. With the new update, here are the latest changes to positive bounties:

  • Positive bounty no longer depends on kill streaks.
  • Positive bounty is not based on your minion and monster kills compared to the enemy team's average minion and monster kills.
  • The champions get 1 bounty gold for every 4 gold earned by kills and assists. Meanwhile, the "Shut Down" gold doesn't increase the killer’s positive bounty.
  • The potential bounty gold is reduced by 1 for every 4 gold given away to killers and assisters upon death.
  • In the positive bounty state: The champions collect 1 bounty gold for every 20 gold earned from minions and monsters.
  • When a champion is “Shut Down,” all bounty gold is removed from the champion. If a champion's bounty exceeds 700 gold, the remaining amount will be carried over to its subsequent life.
  • The first 100 bounty golds are not applied. So, even if you get kills and assists worth 400g, you will not get a bounty. However, the next time you get klls and assists worth 400g, you will receive a 100g bounty.

It is important to note that when positive bounties are in effect, objective bounties will diminish the value of positive bounties for the team that is losing. This reduction begins at 10% and may escalate to approximately 80%.

Negative bounties:

The negative bounty represents a fundamental reduction in the kill gold awarded to a champion. In contrast to positive bounties, this diminished value is also taken into account when calculating assist gold.

Here are the latest changes to negative bounties:

  • Negative bounty no longer depends on death streaks.
  • It no longer resets from getting 1 kill.
  • It no longer undoes 1 death per assist.
  • In the negative bounty state: The base gold value is reduced by 1 for every 4 gold given to killers and assisters upon death.
  • In the negative bounty state: The base gold value is increased by 1 for every 4 gold earned from kills and assists. Notably, the "Shut Down" gold is applied to negative bounties.
  • In the negative bounty state: The base gold value is increased by 1 for every 10 gold earned from monsters and minions.
  • The first 50 negative bounty golds are not applied. So, a 300g death will set your base kill-gold to -25 instead of -75.

Riot Games is also implementing modifications to League of Legends' objective bounties. Void Grubs will now play a role in contributing to bounties. The values of bounties will be reduced when the losing team is in the process of mounting a successful comeback. Additionally, the dragons, turrets, experience, and gold values have been adjusted.

Here are new objective bounty changes in League of Legends:

  • The Void Grubs now affect objective bounties.
  • The experience differences affect about 40% less bounty.
  • The Gold differences affect about 25% more bounty.
  • The turret and drake differences are slightly more likely to contribute regarding objective bounties.
  • These bounties will deactivate swiftly if the losing team makes a comeback.
  • The objective bounties are ending soon timer: 60 seconds → 30 seconds.
  • The objective bounties are decreased by 20–40% when the losing team is already coming back.
  • The Baron Nashor base objective bounty: 500g → 300g.
