Atlus has revealed the cast members and characters in Metaphor ReFantazio who will play an integral part in the plot. This cast was showcased in a recent livestream and includes the various allies and opponents you will encounter as you try to sway the citizens of the Kingdom of Euchronia to your side.

As disclosed in the Metaphor ReFantazio story trailer earlier, the Kingdom of Euchronia has fallen into a state of cold war between several factions, each of which is vying for the throne. This internal turmoil started after the king was assassinated. While the previous showcase by Atlus gave us a glimpse at a few characters in Metaphor ReFantazio whom we will encounter in our journey, the latest Atlus exclusive showcase unveiled a few new faces.

Let's get to know each character who will play a big role in the story of Metaphor ReFantazio.

Candidates for the throne

Besides the protagonist, the following characters in Metaphor ReFantazio will participate in the Election Magic and win the throne.

• Sanctifex Forden: Leader of the religious order of Sancticism and one of the popular contenders for the throne.
• Louis: One of the game's major antagonists and a charismatic young military leader with a cult-like following.
• Gideaux: One of the bodyguards of Sanctifex Forden and a religious zealot. He has no ambition of becoming the king but decides to join in as he deems the protagonist a heretic due to his race.
• Glodell the Blackhound: He's one of Louis' lackeys who harbors an ambition of absolute power.
• Milo Maurizio: Another contender who is quite popular due to his beautiful looks. However, he's an ardent fanatic ready to condemn those he doesn't deem beautiful.
• Loveless: The third son of a tavern owner in the kingdom who promises free drinks to citizens once he takes the throne. His campaign slogan is "All you can drink! All year around!"
• Rudolf: Another military man who wants to lead the nation to prosperity by establishing absolute dictatorship under his banner. He wants to establish the supremacy of his tribe of Roussainte, leading many to flock to his cause.
• Lina: She's from the Eugief tribe and participated in the tournament to promote her Gauntlet Runner business
• Goddard: An elderly man from the Rhoag clan whose agenda is to give preferential treatment to the elderly citizens while taxing the young folks of the kingdom
• Roger: A young man who promises to abolish tax and religion to make the country truly free.
• Jin: One of the candidates who is an opportunist and will change his pledge depending on people he encounters

You will also meet other minor candidates participating for some agenda, leading to quite a few opposing characters in Metaphor ReFantazio. But as your journey continues, many of these rivals will ultimately become your allies and support your cause.

While you will face fierce competition from your rivals, you will also encounter a few key allies who will support your journey. You can increase the ranks of your supporters by helping various people as you travel across the kingdom. While your key allies will be the party members who will assist you in combat, you can make friends who won't participate in battle.

These bonds will ultimately allow you to unlock powerful Archetypes, which was detailed during the Summer Game Fest showcase of Metaphor ReFantazio.
