3) Mage

Mages are powerful, especially with crowd control and elemental spellcasting, but they have the biggest difficulty curve among all the classes. Mages can inflict a variety of elemental effects, which can exploit weaknesses in enemies but to constantly make them effective, you will have to examine each enemy you fight.

  • Spellblade: Blends melee with powerful electricity-based magic, ideal for close-range combat.
  • Evoker: Focuses on ice abilities for crowd control and slowing enemies.
  • Death Caller: Uses necrotic damage to drain life from enemies, good for longer battles.

Resource: Mana, which fuels spells and regenerates over time, allowing sustained magical output.

Companions with the same class:

  • Bellara – Member of the Veil Jumpers, a strong spellcaster.
  • Neve – Associated with the Shadow Dragons, master of powerful ice and necrotic spells.
  • Emmrich Volkarin – A Mourn Watch member, specialized in life-draining necromancy.

Mages offer the highest versatility with elemental attacks and status effects but are the hardest to master. This high skill requirement and situational effectiveness is why Mage is the lowest entry on this list.

The Rogue is an agile, versatile class with high-speed attacks and evasion maneuvers. This class excels in precision attacks and critical hits, making it a great option if you enjoy swift, strategic combat. It can equip dual-wielding and bow-based attacks, providing both close and long-range options.

  • Veil Ranger: Optimized for bow skills, benefiting those who favor ranged sniping.
  • Saboteur: Focuses on traps, turrets, and other battlefield control tactics.
  • Duelist: Excels in melee with abilities to parry and counter, with high damage output.
  • Resource: Momentum, which powers up bomb-dropping power moves, adding an explosive touch to combat.

Companions with the same class:

  • Harding – Skilled in ranged attacks, can be very effective as support with the bow.
  • Lucanis Dellamorte – Antivan Crow with advanced melee techniques, great for close combat.

Rogues shine in speed and flexibility, making them ideal for a fast-paced combat style. However, their relatively low damage and control are why they are the second-best option in the game.
