Concord is a new 5v5 character-based FPS coming to PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024. Developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Playstation Publishing LLC, it has seen early comparisons to the popular Overwatch 2. The game was available to beta testers last month and is now a week away from an official launch.
The 5v5 competitive FPS genre is already dominated by popular titles like Valorant and CS2. Therefore, an upcoming release like Concord would need some unique features to stand out. The developers recently revealed, through an official PlayStation Blog post, a variety of accessibility features that will aid in improving the overall in-game experience.

The developers of the game have taken into account a wide range of player sensibilities and tried to cater to specific needs. This includes features like the ping system to mark specific areas of the map, repeatable training experience, and, most importantly, character optimization for those who encounter motor barriers. Coupled with that, the title introduces characters like Lark, Jabali, and Daw & Kyps, which require very little fine aiming but can still provide a lot of support.
Moving on to the general controls, you get to customize according to your playstyle preferences. Important settings include mouse/stick invert options, stick sensitivity, and even a double-pressing sensitivity which can be adjusted according to your mouse's clicking speed. To improve visual aids and spatial awareness, you can recenter your camera, adjust dialogue and trigger vibrations, and change vibrations for in-world ability locations, interactions, and location pings.
In addition to these quality-of-life adjustments, you will also have the ability to improve your overall gameplay experience. Adjust the amount of camera shake, weapon bob strength, and minimap orientation to your liking.
Firework Studios has also included a bunch of audio, video, and user interface settings to better integrate the game with your PC. The developers have outlined their efforts to incorporate more accessibility settings in the future:
"This is just the starting point for our accessibility options for Concord. We are continuing to work on other settings to be announced at a future date and will be sure to provide updates to you as we can. While we’re glad we can have these offerings available on day one, we’re committed to continuously refining and improving accessibility in Concord post-launch. To make our accessibility considerations the best they can be, we need your feedback!"
Concord is not free to play. It is currently available on Steam as a pre-order for INR 2,499. Buyers can also opt for a Digital Deluxe edition for INR 3,499, which gives them access to the title from August 20.
