While Ghost of Tsushima is primarily about epic samurai duels, there are a few bows players can equip when it’s time to be stealthy or sneaky. Thankfully, there aren’t as many of these as there are suits of equipment or various color dyes you can collect throughout the game. While you are seldom forced to use a bow, it is important to have at least one of them on your journey. You never know when it will come in handy.
One of the armor sets is a must if you plan on using bows often in Ghost of Tsushima: Tadayori’s Armor. It increases your nocking/reloading speed and improves Concentration time. However, if you want to know where to find these bows, look no further.

The Half Bow cannot be missed in Ghost of Tsushima. You unlock it very early in the story as part of your lessons with Ishikawa-sensei. Simply completing the main story quest “The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa” will grant you the bow. It won’t happen very deep into the game's first act, so it’s impossible to miss, and you don’t have to go out of your way for it.
2) Longbow
The other bow that you can get in Ghost of Tsushima, the Long Bow, comes from a Mythic Tale and is completely optional. If you aren’t taking the time to talk to musicians who herald these side quests, you’re missing out on some truly exceptional power. In this case, you must complete The Curse of Uchitsune, which begins at the Hiyoshi Springs in Izuhara.
Begin the quest and use the gust of wind that leads you to a coast covered in blue flowers. That’s not exactly where you need to be, but it’s close. For this Ghost of Tsushima Mythic Tale, you must head to the nearby forest that has a huge rock in it and blue flowers around it.
There’s an opening in the rock that’s easy to miss, and it leads down into an area where you can follow a trail of blue flowers. There’s a painting at the end of the path that leads to your next objective. As you leave, you’ll get an ominous warning to stop seeking this weapon.
The gust of wind will once again take you to your next objective. You must go until you see the ocean. Just look for the blue flowers again. If you look ahead and see a pair of islands, you’re in the right spot. The blue flowers should lead you down to the water, so you can swim to the island. A cave on the island has another painting, and you’ll soon get another warning.
The next step is to head back to the Hiyoshi Inn Hot Spring, and head to the northwest. The wind will take you to the next place you need to go. Once you’re climbing the cliff for this Mythic Tale, head right, and walk up the hill. You’ll also find a Survivor’s Camp up here and head south from there.
You’re looking for a shrine carved into a mountain. When you see it, go left to see another field of blue flowers and a huge shrine. Pick up the bow from the shrine and get ready for a duel. It’s a pretty simple duel, though. Equip your strongest armor, parry non-red attacks, and beware of its unblockable attack.
Success grants you the longbow in Ghost of Tsushima. It’s a weapon designed for stealth attacks from a distance. It’s got a slow draw, so it’s not good in the midst of battle.
