All Goku Branching Paths in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero revealed

Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO offers players many aspects of gameplay and story to players, including a multiplayer mode, a Hyperbolic Chamber local multiplayer mode, an Episode Mode, and more. The Episode Mode allows players to step into the shoes of some of their favorite Dragon Ball characters, playing through the campaign and building on their back story.

One of the characters synonymous with Dragon Ball, Goku's Episode mode has three Branching Paths for players to explore Goku's story further. These add more depth to the character and introduce additional lore elements into the story of Goku within Sparking ZERO.

All Goku Branching Paths in Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO

Goku's story in Sparking ZERO has three branching paths the player can choose from:

• Side By Side
• Pushing The Limit
• The Changing Future

Side By Side

The first branching path in Goku's campaign is Side By Side, which requires Goku to defeat Raditz on his own, within a specified time limit. Should Krillin step onto the battlefield, the branching path will not proceed further, and the standard campaign mode will continue. Once Raditz is defeated, the following events take place.

• Raditz vs The Turtle School: Requires defeating Raditz before Krillin can intervene.
• Piccolo’s Proposal: Piccolo offers to provide training and enhance Gohan's Power levels.
• Training Together: Players are provided with an option to duel with Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, or Chiaotzu. Defeating any of them continues the story.
• The Importance of Teamwork: Arriving to duel with Goku is Nappa. Once defeated, Nappa is eliminated by Vegeta.
• Fearless Vegeta: Vegeta intervenes, and duels with Goku. Damaging him enough has him transform into a Great Ape.
• Great Ape Extermination!: Now a Great Ape, Vegeta must be defeated to continue the story.
• The Battle Resumes Too Soon: Yet another Vegeta fight, though it concludes with Piccolo accidentally killing Goku with the Special Beam Cannon.
• Team Combat by an Unlikely Pair: Eager to take down Goku, Frieza's forces arrive. Players must defeat Dodorira and Zarbon.
• Mysterious Elite Squadron: The Ginyu Force's Guldo engages in battle with Goku, and must be taken down.
• Consecutive Battles with the Ginyu Force!: All five of the Ginyu Force members must be defeated. Health regeneration is turned off for this fight.
• Suspicious Vegeta: Frieza sends Captain Ginyu away, and Vegeta goes after him. Now with the spirit of Captain Ginyu controlling him, Vegeta and Goku duel again. Once defeated, Captain Ginyu is turned into a frog.
• Frieza’s Transformation: Frieza now steps into the battlefield. Damaging him enough will see him reveal his different forms until he evolves into his third form.
• Side by Side: In his Third form, Frieza duels with Goku. Vegeta then intervenes and stops the fight before Frieza can evolve into his Final form.

Pushing the Limit

This path can be unlocked by siding with Piccolo during "The Earth's Mightiest Duo" episode in Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO. In the next episode, Raditz must be defeated before the time limit is exhausted. Just like the previous path, failing to do so will result in the main campaign continuing.

• Temporary Peace: Aware of Vegeta and Nappa's arrival, Goku tests Gohan's strength. Defeating Gohan continues the story.
• Hurry, Goku!: The Saibaman has decimated Goku's friends, and Goku has none of it and defeats him.
• Goku vs Nappa: Nappa and Vegeta show up. Goku fights Nappa and brings him to his last health bar.
• A Saiyan’s Education: Goku once again fights Nappa and defeats him. Vegeta eliminates Nappa, ashamed of the defeat.
• Transformation: Vegeta steps up to fight Goku, and upon having his health reduced turns into a Great Ape and knocks Goku unconscious.
• Goku’s Rage: As a Great Ape, Vegeta deals a lot of damage to Goku's friends and Gohan. An enraged Goku turns Super Saiyan and defeats Vegeta, but allows him to escape.
• A Solo Journey to Planet Namek: Goku and friends arrive on Namek to search for Dragon Balls. A Frieze Force Soldier shows up and must be taken down.
• Pushing the Limit: Vegeta shows up in Super Saiyan form and informs Goku that he has taken down Frieza. Turning Super Saiyan as well, Goku and Vegeta duel. Vegeta must be defeated to end this branching pathway.

The Changing Future

Goku's story in the Cell Saga is explored further within this branching path. This can be started by accepting Gohan's request to help Piccolo in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber episode. Piccolo is on the fringes of health, having been damaged by Cell. Do not get damaged by Cell's Solar Flare attack while saving Piccolo, or the main campaign of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO continues.

• Defeat Cell!: Goku arrives in the nick of time to save Piccolo from Cell. The objective and method to proceed is to take down Cell while ensuring no damage is taken from the Solar Flare attack he launches.
• The Androids and Goku: Even with Cell out of the picture, the other Androids must be taken down. This Episode requires Android 18 to be defeated.
• Fun and Games: With Android 18 defeated, Android 17 joins the fray and steps up to battle Goku. Defeating him will unlock the final Episode of this path.
• The Changing Future: Bearing the name of the branching path itself, the final episode requires Goku to defeat Android 16. Despite Android 18 and 17 wanting to retreat, Android 16's efforts to defeat Goku end up in vain once Goku defeats him. This ends the third and final Branching Path of Goku's story.
