NetEase Games’ new hero shooter title, Marvel Rivals, features four game modes. However, players cannot choose the mode they want to play. On top of it, there are different maps for different modes, meaning the game mode will depend heavily on the map you're playing.

Since this title is relatively new, players might not be familiar with all the modes it has on offer. This article goes over the four game modes you can enjoy in Marvel Rivals.

Convergence

Those who have played Overwatch before will be familiar with the Convergence mode since it's quite similar to its Hybrid mode.

The game mode is a mixture of two modes where the attackers have to capture a point/area first before unlocking the Convoy. The point has three checkpoints. When the attackers reach a checkpoint, they can leave the area without losing any progress. Once they capture the point, the Convoy will be unlocked and the attackers must push it to the end to secure the win.

Convergence is available in both Quick Play and Competitive. The only difference in the Competitive playlist is that both teams get to attack at least once.

Unlike Convergence, the Convoy game mode is easy to understand. On a given map, players get to push the convoy from the beginning till the end. In Quick Play, you have to either push the convoy or stop it from advancing.

After pushing it to the end, the attacking team will win the game, while the defenders have to stop it from advancing for a certain time to secure the victory. Once the attackers reach a checkpoint (if there is any), the timer will be increased allowing them to push the objective further. This mode is also featured in both Quick Play and Competitive, with the latter requiring players to play multiple rounds until a team wins.

Domination

As the name suggests, players have to capture the objective for the longest time to win in Domination. This game mode is similar to Overwatch’s Control. Each Domination match is split into three rounds and played as a Best of 3. Hence, securing victories in two rounds will result in you winning the match. This mode is also available in Quick Play and Competitive.

The Conquest game mode is similar to Team Deathmatch from other FPS titles. Players will be divided into two teams and tasked with scoring a certain number of kills. The team completing the requirement first will be victorious.

Keep in mind that this game mode is not featured in Quick Play or Competitive, but has its own playlist.
