The Group Stages of Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports World Cup 2024 concluded on July 7, 2024, and the community is incredibly excited to experience the fierce competition that awaits in the Knockout Stages. The top 23 MLBB teams went to Riyadh to participate in the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 in the Esports World Cup.

While 15 regional champion teams were allocated to different groups immediately, the rest of the eight teams fought in the WildCard competition for the one slot remaining. The Group Stages began on July 3, 2024, after HomeBois from Malaysia won the WildCard competition and was allocated the remaining slot in Group C.

The Group Stages of the tournament saw fierce rivalries, sheer dominance of the heavyweights, and surprising upsets from the underdogs. This article will discuss the top eight teams that made it through the Group Stages of the competition.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports World Cup Knockout Stage teams

The 16 Group Stage qualifying teams for the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports World Cup were divided into four groups, with each group containing four teams. The top two teams from each Group qualified for the next round.


Qualified teams from Group A

Group A saw FireFlux Esports (Turkey), NIP Flash (Singapore), EVOS Glory (Indonesia), and RRQ Akira (Brazil) fight for the top two qualifying spots. While many predicted EVOS Glory and RRQ Akira's qualification, surprisingly, both teams went out of the Group Stage. The two teams qualified from Group A are:

  • NIP Flash (first)
  • FireFlux Esports (second)

Qualified teams from Group B

Group B had the Malaysian champions (Selangor Red Giants), Cambodian champions (See You Soon), Indonesian champions (Fnatic ONIC), and MENA champions (Team Falcons) together in a group. Many considered this to be the group of death and predicted Fnatic ONIC and either the Selangor Red Giants or Team Falcons qualifying from this group.

However, to everyone's surprise, See You Soon managed to grab one of the playoff spots in the group. The teams that qualified from Group B are:

  • Selangor Red Giants (first)
  • See You Soon (second)

Qualified teams from Group C

Despite HomeBois (Malaysia) entering the competition by winning the WildCard, they were the favorites to qualify from this group. The other three teams from the group were Twisted Minds (Saudi Arabia), Team Spirit (CIS region), and Liquid ECHO (Philippines). Despite the home support, Twisted Minds also failed to enter the Knockout Stages.

Teams qualified from the Group C are:

  • Liquid ECHO (Philippines)
  • HomeBois (Malaysia)

Qualified teams from Group D

The final group contained teams like Falcons AP. Bren (Philippines), Falcon Esports (Myanmar), Xianyou Gaming (China), and Cloud9 (North America). Xianyou Gaming and Cloud9 exited the group stage while the two teams from the Falcons franchise qualified for the playoffs.

The qualifying teams from Group D are:

  • Falcons AP.Bren (first)
  • Falcon Esports (second)

These qualified eight teams of MLBB will resume their fight in the Knockout Stages from July 10, 2024, to grab the ultimate champion's crown and lion's share of the 3 million USD prize pool.

  • S2G Esports from Turkey(MTC Turkiye Championship Season 3 runner-up)
  • Trained to Kill from Nepal(MLBB Champion Battles)
  • KeepBest Gaming from China (MSC 2024 China Qualifier runner-up)
  • Zino Zenith from Vietnam (M Challange Cup Season 3 Champion)
  • IHC Esports from Mongolia (MSC 2024 Mongolia Qualifier)

  • Fnatic ONIC from Indonesia (MPL Indonesia Season 13 Champion)
  • EVOS Glory from Indonesia (MPL Indonesia Season 13 runner-up)
  • Twisted Minds from Saudi Arabia (MPL MENA Season 5 best KSA aka Kingdom of Saudi Arabia team)
  • RRQ Akira from Brazil (MPL LATAM Season 1 Champion)
  • Team Spirit from the Commonwealth of Independent States (MLBB Continental Championship Season 3 Champion)
  • Cloud9 from North America (NATC Spring 2024 Champion)
  • Xianyou Gaming from China (MSC 2024 China Qualifier Champion)
  • Team Falcons from Saudi Arabia (MPL MENA Season 5 Winners)
