Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid Season Cup in Esports World Cup: Quarterfinals Day 1

The opening match of Day 1 was between Liquid ECHO, the table toppers of Group C, and Falcon Esports, the second place holders of Group D. While the fans of the Falcons franchise were the most hopeful for Team Falcons, the home team, and Falcons AP.Bren, the M5 World Championship winners, it was Falcon Esports that surprised everybody by entering the Knockout Stages when Team Falcons were already out of the tournament.

However, they could not carry on with the hype that was building around them and collapsed against Liquid ECHO, the champions of MPL PH Season 13. Liquid ECHO thrashed Falcon Esports 3-1 in the best-of-five quarterfinal game.

The second match of Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid Season Cup Quarterfinals Day 1 was between Selangor Red Giants and FireFlux Esports. The latter is the second-place holder of Group A and arrived in the quarterfinals as giant killers, after overcoming teams like NIP Flash, EVOS Glory, and RRQ Akira. However, it was a bit too hard for them to soak up the pressure and perform against Selangor Red Giants, who had been unbeaten for the last four months.

When Selangor Red Giants, the esports division of Malaysia's Selangor Football Club, first appeared in MPL MY Season 13, they were not getting enough respect despite finishing third in the tournament's previous edition. However, they earned it by winning undefeated and maintaining the streak in major tournaments since.

While FireFlux Esports gave a tough fight to the Red Giants (2-2 in the first four games), the latter managed to win the final match, securing a slot in the semifinals.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid Season Cup in Esports World Cup: Quarterfinals Day 2

On the second day of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid Season Cup Quarterfinals in Esports World Cup, Falcons AP.Bren faced See You Soon. The opening match drew a lot of attention as many considered the latter team to be the tournament's dark horse ever since they defeated teams like Fnatic ONIC and Team Falcons to secure their quarterfinal spot.

However, despite their valiant efforts, the Cambodian giant killers could not handle the pressure of the Knockout Stages and lost to Falcons AP.Bren by a 3-0 margin.

While See You Soon will be returning to their country having earned the respect of the MLBB Esports community on the world stage, the Falcons AP.Bren will face Liquid ECHO in the semifinals. This will be interesting as they missed their chance of becoming champions in three consecutive major tournaments after losing to Liquid ECHO in MPL PH Season 13.

The second and final match of Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid Season Cup Quarterfinals in the Esports World Cup was between NIP Flash and HomeBois Malaysia. This was the most exciting game of the quarterfinals as both the teams were evenly matched.

NIP Flash arrived in the quarterfinals after drawing against EVOS Glory, and beating FireFlux Esports and RRQ Akira in the Group Stage. However, HomeBois' journey had been a fairytale as they entered the Group Stage by winning the Wild Card competition, and then managed to enter the quarterfinals from there.

Since the Selangor Red Giants were already waiting in the semifinals, HomeBois Malaysia had all the reasons to give their best to enter SRG's bracket and try to end their unbeaten run. Especially since the Red Giants defeated HomeBois to take the MPL MY Season 13 trophy home.

However, NIP Flash was not ready to give a free pass to HomeBois. Despite the latter's valiant efforts, the former team managed to win the final game of the best-of-five match to beat HomeBois 3-2 and secure their slot in the semis.
