The Episode mode of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO puts players into the shoes of some of their favorite characters from the franchise and builds on their story. Within these Episodes, players can unlock more content in the form of Branching Paths, which will allow them to further explore the character's story.
One of the series' most popular characters, Piccolo, has his own Branching Path in Sparking ZERO, termed "A Mentor's Guidance." Below are details about this branching path.

Piccolo's Branching Path in Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO
To start this path, Piccolo must offer to help Goku during his battle with Android 19. Upon offering assistance, the Branching Path begins with the following episodes.

- Helping Goku: Offering to help Goku puts Piccolo step on the battlefield to take on Android 19. Defeating him continues the storyline.
- Piccolo versus Androids: Android 16, 17 and 18 appear and state their intent on challenging Goku. Piccolo volunteers to fight them, and reducing Android 18's health ends this episode.
- Goku's Request: There is no combat in this episode, as it includes a cutscene featuring a major spoiler. However, Piccolo emerges from this episode as a more formidable and powerful character.
- Cell Transforms: In this episode, Cell absorbs Android 17 and becomes incredibly powerful as he attains his semi-perfect form. Lowering his health bar ends the episode.
- Gohan's Training: Unable to entirely defeat Cell, Gohan and Piccolo travel to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to help Piccolo train. Here, Gohan must be defeated.
- Cell Games: Cell invites Goku, Gohan and Piccolo to participate in the Cell Games. Piccolo once again goes up against Cell, though on this, Cell must be defeated to proceed to the final Episode.
- Final Fight with Cell: In the final Episode, Cell must be completely defeated by Piccolo to conclude the Branching Path. Try to take down Cell as fast as possible, as his strength increases the longer the fight is prolonged.
