Strange Alien Metal or SAM Ore in Satisfactory is one of the rarest resources in the overworld. The material comes in three types—Pure, Normal, and Impure—and they can be obtained using hands, Lizard Doggos, or by setting up Miners in the resource deposits. Before Satisfactory 1.0, SAM Ores didn’t serve any purpose, however, these rare resources can now be used to craft endgame recipes.

Upon reaching Tier 9, you can use SAM Ores to craft Reanimated SAM and SAM Fluctuators, which can then be used to craft Converters and Portals. If you’re having trouble locating these rare ores by yourself, this guide will provide you with coordinates of all SAM Ore locations in Satisfactory.

All Sam Ore locations in Satisfactory

Western Dune Forest

The first Pure SAM Ore can be located in the western region of the Dune Forest region at the coordinates: (- 473, 1274). The area is a lush green forest and may not be easily accessible by foot. Therefore, using a vehicle or Jetpack to reach this place is recommended.

Eastern Dune Forest

The next Pure SAM Ore is also located in the Dune Forest but in the eastern region. The coordinates for this one are (1705, 699). The ore is hidden away between mountains so it could be a little difficult to reach. Hence, using a Jetpack to observe the area from air or searching by foot is recommended.

There is another Common rarity SAM Ore located a bit to the southeast of the previous one.

Spire Coast SAM Ore

The last Pure SAM Ore in Satisfactory can be found on the Spire Coast, located in the northern region of the map. The coordinates for the ore are (1730, -2407). Again, this one is difficult to reach by foot or vehicle, so you’ll need to use a Jetpack to reach this higher terrain.

Grass Fields

You can find Normal rarity SAM Ores in the southern parts of Grass Fields. The coordinates to this deposit are (-231, 2692), and 134 meters underground. As a result, setting up a Miner on this location is recommended.

There is one Normal SAM Ore deposit in the Rocky Desert area at (-1812, -1423).

Dune Desert

There is one Normal SAM Ore in the northwestern part of Dune Desert at coordinates (1725, - 2855). The terrain is difficult to navigate by foot so using a vehicle is recommended.
