Artifacts in Stalker 2 are items that can be picked up, stored in the inventory, and even traded in exchange for some precious coupons. These can be found all around the map and stored in the bag. However, it is not always possible to find artifacts easily as they can be strewn across the map. This is where Artifact Detectors come in, as they help find artifacts more easily.
Various kinds of detectors can be acquired throughout gameplay. However, be vigilant while collecting artifacts as some may contain high radiation levels. Some artifacts can reverse these effects as well though, by offering effective radiation protection. You can read about surviving radiation by clicking the link below.

Artifact Detectors in Stalker 2 and how to acquire them
Detectors are not only useful to find artifacts but they can also help you find and accordingly defend yourself against Anomalies, and also act as a Geiger counter. Four artifact detectors are available in the game. They can be acquired as follows:
- Echo: The default artifact detector, made available in the mission There and Back Again.
- Hilka: This can be acquired during the "Budmo!" side mission, and can help detect artifacts by providing a distance indicator when you are within 100 meters of the artifact.
- Bear: This can be obtained during the "A Sign of Hope" side mission and has upgraded components that help provide the direction and distance to the nearby artifact, indicated by glowing green lights.
- Veles: The easiest to read, this can be obtained by completing the "In Search of Past Glory" side mission. It provides a red dot on the display indicating the location of the nearby artifact, making it the best detector of the lot.
Equip the detector by pressing the requisite key bound to it on your controller or keyboard, and it will indicate the presence of an artifact by sending out beeps and providing a visual indicator with the lights on it.
