Status conditions in Stalker 2 are among the most lethal aspects of the game. In the Zone, almost everything is out to get you, but you can shake them off with proper preparation and skills. That said, imagine being chased by a Bloodsucker but you can’t run effectively because you are “Encumbered.” You can bet your last dollar that you will end up dead.

Status conditions can be frustrating and severely fatal if not cured on time. In this article, we share all the status conditions in Stalker 2 and explain how to cure them.

1) Bleeding

Causes:

  • Bullet wounds, mutant attacks, barbed wire, glass shards, anomalies.

Effects:

  • Displayed as a red blood droplet icon above health.
  • Causes health loss over time, worsening with a bright red icon.

Cures:

  • Bandages: Maximum reduction.
  • Medkit: Medium reduction.
  • Scientific Medkit: Medium reduction.
  • Army Medkit: Strong reduction.

2) Hunger

Causes:

  • Neglecting to eat.
  • Waking up after sleeping.
  • Drinking energy drinks or alcohol (worsens with repeated use).

Effects:

  • Shown by a chicken drumstick icon.
  • Decreased stamina recovery and increased damage taken.

Cures:

  • Sausage: Medium reduction.
  • Bread: Medium reduction.
  • Canned Food: Strong reduction.
  • Condensed Milk: Maximum reduction.

3) Encumbered

Causes:

  • Exceeding yellow or red carry weight thresholds.

Effects:

  • Displayed as a weight icon.
  • Slows mobility, reduces stamina recovery, increases stamina consumption, and immobilizes if capacity is exceeded.

Cures:

  • Drop, stash, or sell items to reduce weight.
  • Equip gear/artifacts to increase carry weight.
  • Hercules Drug: Temporary 20kg boost for 5 minutes.

4) Radiation

Causes:

  • Exposure to irradiated zones or radioactive artifacts.

Effects:

  • Noisy screen grain and crackling sounds.
  • Damage over time; full meter results in death.

Cures:

  • Anti-Radiation Drugs: Maximum reduction.
  • Scientific Medkit: Strong reduction.
  • Cossacks Vodka: Strong reduction.
  • Beer: Weak reduction.

5) Psi-Radiation

Causes:

  • Psi-beacons or attacks from the Controller mutant.

Effects:

  • Strange auditory hallucinations and ghostly visuals.
  • Gradual health deterioration.

Cures:

  • Psi-Blocks: +10 Psi Protection for 1 minute.
  • Use SEVA-I armor to reduce damage.
  • Eliminate the Controller or deactivate psi-beacons to remove the source.

6) Alcohol

Causes:

  • Consuming alcoholic beverages (e.g., Vodka).

Effects:

  • Blurry vision and wobbly camera effects.
  • Worsens with repeated consumption.

Cures:

  • Wait for the effects to fade naturally.

Of all these conditions, Bleeding is the most dangerous. If left unchecked, you will eventually die in-game. Meanwhile, Encumbered won’t kill you on its own, but when caught in a tight situation, it will be almost impossible to get out alive.
