As the event celebrates its 10th Anniversary, the best of the best games of 2024 are up against one another to be crowned the king. The winner of the Game of the Year will be revealed on December 12 during the special live broadcast.

Game Science's debut title has been a massive success, with the game selling over 18 million units. Many people wanted Black Myth Wukong as one of the Game of the Year nominees at The Game Awards 2024 and their wish has been granted.
2) Metaphor ReFantazio
2024 has been a big year for Atlus, with back-to-back successes with the release of Persona 3 Reload, Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance, and Metaphor ReFantazio. The journey across the Kingdom of Euchronia has been well-received by fans and critics alike, and Metaphor has been the most successful game for the studio.
3) Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Square Enix might have another Game of the Year title in its bag, as the second game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy has received a nomination at The Game Awards 2024. The story of Cloud and his gang going up against overwhelming odds to save the world has been one of the best narratives told this year and has been praised by fans and critics alike.
4) Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Arise Tarnished, thy ambitions may once again be fulfilled. FromSoftware may have yet another winner in its hand with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for the 2022 Game of the Year, Elden Ring. The DLC has been one of the biggest launches of 2024 and has rightfully earned its place on the winner's podium at The Game Awards 2024 alongside FF7 Rebirth, Black Myth, and Metaphor ReFantazio.
5) Astro Bot
Astro has finally got its rightful place as a Game of the Year nominee. Sometimes simplicity can be the road to success and Team ASOBI has proved that with its puzzle-platformer PlayStation-exclusive title, Astro Bot.
6) Balatro
The indie games genre is often overshadowed by big AAA publishers, but developer LocalThunk proved that wrong and has earned a nomination for the Game of the Year with their roguelike deck builder, Balatro.
Everyone loves a good underdog story and Balatro may be crowned the king of 2024 by winning this year's Game of the Year.
