The story of Black Myth Wukong puts players into the shoes of the mythical character Sun Wukong, revered in Chinese history as a mythic figure. The game takes players on a journey of vengeance, to help the protagonist right the wrongs committed against him and his clan, and at the same time, deliver justice to the wrongdoers.
On this journey, the protagonist can use four unique Vessels, each with its own characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. With that in mind, here is our ranking of each of the four available Vessels in Black Myth Wukong, from least desirable to most desirable.

Every Vessel in Black Myth Wukong ranked
4) Fireproof Mantle
In Chapter 1 of the game, players can come across three large bells placed around the large mountain. Ringing all three in the right order will see Sun Wukong taken to the Ancient Guanyin temple, where the optional Elder Jinchi boss fight will begin. If played strategically, the boss fight will be over without much trouble, granting you the Vessel in the process.
The Fireproof Mantle provides active and passive resistance to burns, and also passively prevents the protagonist from suffering the effects of Scorch damage. However, it is not very beneficial to use across most of the game's boss fights due to its effects lasting for a short duration.
3) Weaver's Needle
Obtaining the Weaver's needle requires the player to defeat the Venom Daoist, though they must do this twice, as at the end of the first fight he runs away. After defeating him the second time, the player will unlock the hidden region of the Purple Cloud Mountain. Within this area, they must now partake in the Duskveil optional boss fight. Defeating him will reward the player with the Weaver's Needle.
Once equipped, the Needle increases the Critical Hit chance and damage, while also having the more pertinent ability to hone in on an enemy, and even help in dealing some extra damage. The Vessel can be obtained even after completing the campaign and, as a result, is not a missable item.
2) Wind Tamer
Acquiring the Wind Tamer Vessel requires having the secret Kingdom of Sahali area unlocked during the playthrough in Chapter 2. Within this secret area, the player must fight the secret boss Fuban, though this boss fight requires a few prerequisites to be completed to be unlocked. Defeating Fuban will reward the player with the Wind Tamer.
The Vessel provides the player with a reduction in damage taken, as well as an immunity to strong winds. However, by far its most beneficial use would be temporarily stopping enemies in their tracks by using the shockwave effect, which can stun them. This Vessel, too, can be obtained after completing the campaign, and as a result, is not a missable item.
1) Plantain Fan
Regarded as the best Vessel in the game, the Plantain Fan can be obtained simply by completing Chapter 5's final boss fight, defeating the Yaksha King. As the Vessel is unlocked at the end of Chapter 5, this makes it the only Vessel that can be used in just one chapter, which would also be the final chapter of the game.
Activating the Fan creates a tornado-like weaponized wind of incredible speed, which can halt the enemy's progress, allowing the player to land some heavy attacks on the stunned enemy. Additionally, the protagonist's stamina recovery rate is also reduced significantly. The item is helpful against almost every kind of boss the player comes up against. As it is acquired via progression, it is not a missable item.
