Havoc Rifle
- Removed Turbocharger as a Hop-up
Dev Note: Even after our most recent round of nerfs, the Havoc is still overperforming compared to our other weapons. Removing its high-valued chase item is intended to tamp down its power level.
R-99 SMG [Care Package]
- Damage fall-off at 11+ meters increased to 11
- Improved recoil
Ammo
- Ammo that spawns with a weapon will now always be a single brick but with twice the ammo
Dev Note: Previously, there was a 70% chance to spawn two separate ammo bricks and a 30% chance to only spawn one when a weapon spawned with its corresponding ammo. We’ve changed this to clean up the number of items on the ground and slightly increase the ammo economy.
Hop-ups
- Reduced spawn rate of Gun Shield Generator
- Removed Turbocharger from the loot pool
Ultimate Accelerant
- Rarity increased to Purple (was Blue)
- Reduced spawn rate
- Increased movement speed while using

What can we expect from the latest weapon changes in Apex Legends Season 22 Split 2?
The first thing that came as massive news to the Apex Legends community was the removal of the Turbocharger from the loot pool. Both the Havoc and the Devotion (currently in the Care Package) have been significantly nerfed with this new update. These energy weapons have a spin-up delay that gets removed when equipped with the Turbocharger hop-up. The developers have used this as a last resort to dampen the relentless power of the Havoc in the game.
The Havoc has been meta for too long. Despite numerous changes, the weapon still shone brighter than all other assault rifles in the game. However, we believe that with the Turbocharger removed, the Havoc will lose a majority of its player base. However, statistically, the weapon still carries the same DPS stats and can be used if players desire it.
As for the R-99 buffs, the improved recoil and the range buffs make it a desirable choice over the C.A.R. SMG. Despite being a Care Package weapon, other SMGs, like the C.A.R., and even the Prowler, were deemed better choices. Now, we believe this action will see much more playtime, and will be a strong meta-pick weapon for the upcoming Apex Legends Season 22 Split 2.
Lastly, though not a weapon, the Ultimate Accelerant has been a key piece of utility, both for pro players and competitive players at the highest level. With players upscaling their skill ceilings, it has become increasingly apparent how Ultimate abilities shape encounters and change the tides of a game.
The latest change of converting the item into an Epic rarity object and further reducing its spawn rate is a great quality-of-life change for players. As such, the tides of encounters will now be dominated by coordination between players and their gunplay skills over merely hitting the Ultimate button over and over again.
